Beyond The Leash

Scot and Jess are miracle workers! My Shiba Inu, Meiko, was extremely difficult to train, very strong willed, an independent thinker! He is now a model citizen, comes on commanded, heals like a champ. i was probably more difficult to train for them, but the follow up training for me was invaluable. i am grateful beyond words and would recommend Beyond The Leash and Scott and Jess to anyone and everyone!

When I got Zoey, a 75 lb. Black Mouth Cur, she was 6 years old and difficult to manage. Although she quickly became sweet and loving with our family, she was vicious, aggressive and threatening with strangers and other dogs. She freaked out whenever someone came to the door or walked past our house. I didn’t dare walk her off leash for fear that she would hurt someone or something. She also pulled like crazy on our walks. After four sessions with Scott, Zoey is a changed dog. She is off leash now when we walk in the woods. She stays close and comes to my side when called. If she starts barking at people near the house, she stops when I speak to her. The real test came recently when we were in the woods and Zoey suddenly bolted to chase a big White Tail deer. She was right at his heels when I shouted “Zoey!” She stopped in her tracks as the deer disappeared into the trees. AMAZING. So grateful for Scott’s training.

Life changing training! I have an 8 month English bulldog puppy, Gus, who was acting out in ways I simply didn't know how to manage or correct. Strategies that worked with my previous dog just weren't cutting it with him. He is extremely smart, full of energy, and has a strong stubborn streak, so while he could be a total cuddle bug, there were times when nothing I tried could get him to calm down or behave. I was completely overwhelmed, frustrated, and at my wit’s end. After searching online and reading glowing reviews, I reached out to Scott and Jess at Beyond the Leash. They responded immediately, and within two days, Scott was at my house for an assessment/training session. I was blown away by how much progress was made in just one hour, and I knew right away we needed Scott’s guidance in our lives!! I decided to enroll my pup in their two-week board and train program. While it was hard to be away from him, we viewed it as a lifelong investment in his future—and it truly was. When Gus came back home, Scott and Jess walked me through a very thorough, hour-long integration session. To be completely honest, I felt a bit overwhelmed at first by everything I needed to learn to keep my pup on track, but Scott and Jess made the transition seamless. The level of communication, thoroughness, ongoing support, and educational resources they provide is truly unbelievable. They didn’t just build confidence and obedience in Guy, they gave me the confidence and tools I needed as an owner, too. It was a bit a learning curve for us, but it has been 100% worth it, best time and money ever spent!! Scott and Jess are beyond knowledgeable, incredibly supportive, and genuinely care about their clients and the dogs. Trust them with your pet!! You won’t be disappointed and both you and your dog will have a much better life for it!

If I could give Scott and Jess more than five stars, I would. We have always loved our dog, Keeva, but she has been a high-maintenance dog with significant anxiety, reactivity, and unpredictable behavior. Before finding Scott and Jess, we had worked with several other trainers and, despite our best efforts, saw little to no improvement. We had started to wonder if this was simply who Keeva was. We were even told our only option was to medicate her. When we found out we were expecting our son, we were honestly scared about how Keeva would adjust to a baby who would eventually become a curious toddler. We were also struggling to manage her around guests while preparing for life with a newborn. We enrolled Keeva in Scott and Jess’s three-week boot camp program, and it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. They didn’t just train Keeva, they trained us too. They gave us the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to understand her, communicate with her, and set her up for success. Keeva is still herself, but now she’s a dog we can confidently manage and enjoy, and one that friends and family can enjoy too. More recently, we adopted a second dog, and once again Scott and Jess have been invaluable. They helped us navigate the transition from one dog to two with patience, expertise, and encouragement. Instead of feeling overwhelmed or anxious, we feel confident, in control, and genuinely excited about this new chapter. Scott and Jess have truly changed our lives. They have helped us create a peaceful, happy home where our dogs can thrive. We trust their judgment completely and will continue turning to them whenever we need guidance. Our dogs are family, and thanks to Scott and Jess, we have the skills and confidence to give them the life they deserve. We can’t recommend them highly enough.

I was extremely impressed with my training session. Even in just one hour, Scott helped me significantly improve my dog’s leash work and introduced the “place” command in a way that was easy to understand and implement. What stood out most was that the training wasn’t just for my dog—it was for me as well. By working in our home environment, he taught me how to communicate more effectively with my dog and continue the training on my own. That hands-on coaching made a huge difference. I learned a lot in a short amount of time and already see improvement. I’ll definitely be reaching out again as our training needs grow. I highly recommend him to anyone whose dog needs a little training or a lot of training. The knowledge, practical guidance, and personalized approach were outstanding.
