About Big Paws of the Ozarks
Big Paws of the Ozarks is a dog rescue and training facility located in Northwest Arkansas. We offer high-quality, individualized dog training services to the public. All proceeds from training support our rescue efforts where we rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome large breed dogs in our community. As a foster-based dog rescue, all of our dogs get to live in loving homes while awaiting their forever homes. Our physical location is used for our public dog training services and rescue operations.

his program is for the puppy owner who wants to give their puppy an amazing foundation of obedience for years to come! We encourage puppies to begin training after they've received at least 1 round of their puppy shots (around 8 weeks).

This is the greatest facility & organization I have ever seen for finding fur babies their new, forever homes! Dogs are not in a "shelter" per se, but rather live in homes with foster parents until their new family takes them home. As a result, I believe they are better cared for and calmer and of course, loved. The staff will want to know all about you and your home (as a new prospective "parent"), will interview you then have you meet your new baby at their spotless and comfortable facility , then have your other dog(s) if any , meet your new addition, then all play together to see how everyone reacts to each other, and if all goes great, you can then add a new fur baby to your family....they are so careful and thoughtful there....I think it would be easier to adopt a child..LOL But that was all very much appreciated by us, so that when we took our new guy home, he already knew our other dog, and us and felt comfortable. Anyway, I was VERY impressed at how loving and caring the staff is and our new addition is an adorable, perfect fit in his new forever home. Thank you Big Paws People...keep up the fantastic work!!

My stubborn, lovable basset hound, Janice, just had an amazing 2-week Board & Train experience with Big Paws' trainer, Marshall! We really needed help when it came to Janice’s resource guarding, but we were hesitant to get her into training with an e-collar because she’s prone to skin allergies/irritations. Marshall understood our concerns fully and was so thoughtful and caring in his approach to her specific needs. I truly appreciated how much he catered her training to set us up for long-term success. We ended the 2-week session feeling like Jan learned exactly what she needed to and that we (humans) know how to keep the training going. 10/10!!
Everyone who works here is the kindest soul you will ever meet. I adopted my best friend from them in July 2025 and continue to go to them to train him. I literally do not have a single bad thing to say about the place, the dogs, the mission, the training, or the staff.

My dog and I completed the 8-session reactivity/aggression package with Marshall, and I could not say enough positive things about our experience. The difference in my dog is truly night and day. Walking with him used to be stressful because he was so reactive, but he had gained so much confidence and trust through this process, and walking with him is now enjoyable for both of us. I am so thankful for Marshall and Big Paws for their training and support, and can't recommend them enough!!
