Black Diamond K9

We had an incredible experience with Black Diamond K9 and truly can’t recommend them enough. They trained our 6-month-old Lab/GSP mix on the e-collar for off-leash work, and the results have been life-changing for both our family and our dog. After two weeks of daily training (about four hours a day), she responds so well that I honestly don’t feel like I even need a leash anymore. She has so much more freedom, and I have complete confidence in her ability to listen and make good choices. It’s transformed how we live with her and how she gets to experience the world as our family dog. Joe and Lindsey were absolutely amazing. From the very beginning, it was clear how knowledgeable, patient, and thoughtful they are as trainers. Our dog loved going there every day—you could tell a real bond was formed. They truly cared about her happiness, confidence, and well-being throughout the entire process, not just the results. If you’re considering off-leash training or e-collar work, Black Diamond K9 is worth every penny. We’re beyond grateful for the freedom, confidence, and trust they helped us build with our dog.

We boarded our 1 1/2 year old Golden Retriever to work on e-collar training and impulse control. Joe & Lindsey are great to work with - they spent two weeks training him and then clearly walked us through the expectations and how to of the e-collar. We're already seeing so many improvements with our golden, and excited to continue our training plan for 3 months. We sent our 1-year-old German Shepherd, Zugs, to Joe and Lindsey at Black Diamond K9 for their 12-day off-leash training program, and the results are nothing short of miraculous. To say we are thrilled is an understatement! Before the program, Zugs was a typical, energetic 1-year-old shepherd—full of potential but lacking focus and reliability. The transformation he underwent in just 12 days is incredible. Joe and Lindsey didn't just teach him commands; they unlocked a new level of communication and understanding between us and our dog. Zugs returned home as a confident, responsive, and reliable companion. His off-leash skills are impeccable, and his general obedience is now something we can count on, whether we're at home or out in public. It's an absolute joy to see him so happy and well-behaved, and it has fundamentally improved our relationship with him. Joe and Lindsey are clearly masters of their craft. Their expertise, patience, and genuine care for the dogs they train are evident in the results they produce. We were kept informed and felt completely at ease leaving Zugs in their capable hands. We cannot recommend Black Diamond K9 highly enough. If you are even considering professional training, this is the place to go. We would use them again and again in a heartbeat. Joe and Lindsey helped me with some reactivity issues my dog has. I felt like the two weeks of controlled socialization was so important to his growth and for my understanding of what is going through his mind in these situations. At the end of the two weeks we had a meeting where we observed Elroy and they taught me how to handle his interactions and to correct him in a productive way. I left with a lot of direction and tools to work with. Elroy is shy with new people and settings and by the second week he was excited to get out of the car and head for the door. It was great to see him open up and get comfortable with Joe and Lindsey. They both are great and we are super thankful for their help!!
