Blackbelt Retrievers

Blackbelt Retrievers is an amazing dog obedience training facility. They took great care of my dog Heinz and gave me weekly progress updates. I felt safe and secure leaving my baby in their care. My dog was a new breed getting him back. He listens so well to me, doesn’t pull on the leash like he use too, knows all the basic commands, and I can even take him places off leash with him coming back to me by saying his name. He is so well behaved now that people don’t believe me when I say he’s still a puppy. It felt good knowing Heinz was getting trained for obedience and hunting. I cannot recommend BB retrievers training program enough. They went above and beyond in all things. From the quality food they provided for the dogs, detailed instructions on the commands when you get your dog back, what they would be working on each week with Heinz, on site vet if needed, quick response to texts/calls and they even met me where I was living in Alabama to drop Heinz back off to me! Thank you BB Retrievers for everything you guys do!!

Giving 5 five stars is an understatement. When me and my Fiancé were looking at places to send our six month old chocolate lab, Retta, we come across this facilities Facebook page. Pretty soon afterwards we called and it just so happened that It was a Sunday. The man who answered the phone told us that he would have to call us back because he was getting ready to go to church with his family. From that conversation alone, I told my fiancé that this was the place we were sending our Retta to. This group of people not only trained our Retta girl, they cared for her. We dropped her off to be trained for working waterfowl and they did just that while communicating and sending videos almost every week and helping us learn as well. She was in school for around 9 months and she didn’t only learn the “cool tricks” , she gained confidence and takes pride in doing something that she loves. In my opinion, anyone can spend time working with a dog and teaching them how to do a task but it takes special people to teach a dog how to love the task they are being taught. These people love what they do and it shows greatly in their work. The God fearing honesty and compassion this organization shows is something that is unmatched. As someone who has hunted their entire life and only just got into duck hunting over the past five years, being fairly new I think I can speak for the majority and say that the addiction of this sport is not only from the birds, but the true rush of feeling so close to God and this organization represents that. I say all this to say, my dog means more to me than any tricks she’s able to learn, so sending her three hours away from me to be trained is not something I do lightly but with Black Belt Retrievers I would do it a thousand times.

Blackbelt retrievers did a phenomenal job training Gunner. He’s the best family dog we could have ever gotten and an amazing hunting dog. I mention that because it is rare to get both and their obedience foundation was not only critical for hunting but for the home too. They take great care of the dogs. In fact, we went to get him food at a dog store right after getting him back and they didn’t have what Brandon feeds them. When we returned to the counter, the owner had looked up the ingredients and said, “Holy cow. That is some incredible dog food. Better than any we sell but it is expensive.” Which was a nice compliment to know our dog was fed the best. We will be sending Gunner back for some tune up prior to next duck season. Lastly, the communication is second to none. You’ll get updates, check ins and even videos. We highly recommend BB retrievers.
