Blackhawk K-9

We had our dog in a 4 week board and train and we cannot believe how much of a difference it made. I did a ton of research on training options for our rescue dog and we were drawn to the fact that they have a varied background in training approaches. and also have a variety of their own dogs they train. In meeting with them for our free consult, you can feel the passion for every dog to be their best. Our dog learned manners in being around people, was beautifully leash trained, and learned how to be less reactive to everything around him. They loved him like their own and have been super supportive through the entire process, even coming home. I love how they use a variety of techniques, not believing in just one way to train a dog, and it shows. I am beyond the moon happy and proud of the outcome of our board and train. Other perks of graduating the board and train program include lifetime support, which is very reassuring. One of my absolute favorite things is feeling confident that I can take my big, strong guy for a walk and we have all of the tools we need to have a super fun walk. I was almost in tears the first time I saw my boy so proud to show off his progress and be confident. I highly recommend Blackhawk K-9 for anything you need, as I know you won't be disappointed!

Sam has changed our dog!! I was so nervous to pay for training, having only ever done it myself, I took a leap of faith knowing I was out of my league with this dog. I compared a couple trainers in the area, and from the first consult, Sam filled me with so much confidence in her approach. We are so grateful for the knowledge she has given us that helps us understand our dog better. We don’t only know what to do after our personally tailored lessons, but we know why we are doing it. And we have felt supported through the whole process. If we didn’t feel like something was going right, she would tell us where we need to pivot our approach and within 1-2 days our dog got it. We went from stressed and frustrated to living peaceful with our dog, and that is worth every penny! Will be recommending Blackhawk K-9’s to everyone I know.

Words cannot express my gratitude for Blackhawk K-9 and more specifically the owner Samantha. She helped me when no one else would. I rescued two large breed dogs that had no socialization or any exposure to anything. These two dogs came with a lot of problems. For people other than my family, they were very scary. She did not let this intimidate her. She took both of them for behavior modification boards. Sam used her expertise in training and dealing with very difficult cases (like my dogs) to completely change their lives and ours. My dogs did not do well in public, were literally afraid of their own shadows, and could not be around anyone or thing other than the my family. Now, I can take them into public , around strangers, and not have to worry. The best part is they came home with the best manners. No more scratched doors or chewed window ledges for us. Furthermore, she also trained our family. She taught myself and my children how to work with our dogs to maintain the work she put in with them. We are all able to control them and it is no longer just myself that can handle the dogs. Along with all the training, after the fact, she is more than happy to help with any questions I have had. We have hit a few unexpected bumps and Sam has helped us navigate the obstacles with the dogs. I could go on and on about this company. From the initial intake, working with Bailey, to the actual training with Sam, it has been easy and has felt like I have a strong support system. It is evident how much she loves the dogs she helps and how good she is at it. Blackhawk K-9 changed my family's and dogs lives. We love them and HIGHLY recommend!

Let me start from the beginning...did we know what we were getting into getting 2 Samoyed puppies? Heck No! Especially stubborn brothers with very tight bond and to train was to train them both together. It was a big financial investment to trust Blakckhawk K-9 to board and train our beloved but train wreck puppies that were eating our baseboards and leaving rope burns on our hands when we walked them. We knew we had to do something before they grew up to be 130-150 lbs (yes, big for Samoyeds). But, we did it! we pulled the trigger and trusted Sam and committed to board and train. I'll admit when we got home they weren't the perfect one year old puppies that no longer needed training...the training still continues but Sam came to our house, assessed our schedule and how to manage them so that they lived by our schedule not the other way around. I must admit I was overwhelmed by these two fur babies but with Sam's help my husband and I do feel 100% that we will be successful in moving forward in training them (with Sam's help, post boarding and continuing their training at our house), her technique is not to break their will but with love and impressive technique that hse has honed over the years and so impressive to hear that she herself keeps learning from others in the business and builds on her already extensive energy. We no longer have sore hands from walking, they don't bark in their kennels and we get to sleep in, they sit and stays in place that we have designated for them. We will have years and years of well behaved dogs that we can be proud to take out into public and also when we have company over......take it from someone who was afraid to pull the trigger to see if we can pull this off!!!!!!! you can with Sam's training and help.
