Cannot recommend them enough! I'd been looking into training places for a while and kept coming back to BlackheartK9. We called to arrange behavior boarding training for our two males (6yr old full Siberian and a 2-3yr pit/husky mix we took in a year ago) who had gotten into a couple of really bad fights and could not be let out in same room together. Ally took the time to listen to our concerns and what our expectations were. We also have 2 female (4yr husky/possible shepherd mix and 1yr husky/lab). We were able to come to an arrangement to be able to send all 4 at the same time so all dogs were trained with same methods/commands. Scott (owner) and team came out to pick them up and explained who would be training who (Josiah/Ally with the boys and Michael/CJ with the girls) and what to expect while gone and plan for transition back home. We got the females back 2wks before boys and Scott, CJ, and Michael made sure we were comfortable with the commands and the quirks for each dog to continue improving their training at home. This helped a lot when it was time to bring the boys home. Josiah and Ally were amazing with the boys and we were very thankful for the almost daily videos and training recaps! It helped a lot to see what to look for and be prepared. I could keep going on but to end an already long review, the females are doing good and the males are maintaining their "ignoring" each other and we're working on free roaming together in the house (muzzle for boys as a precaution to them and kids). With the extra weeks the boys got their commands are solid! Pictures to come soon!

The short review: I spent weeks researching trainers and programs to help bring some peace to our very anxious, too smart for his own good, 9 month old golden retriever and thank God Blackheart K9 showed up in the search. They absolutely changed our lives with their incredibly thorough and caring training. We will absolutely be using them for puppy training for any future dogs. Give them a call for any of your training or behavior modification needs. Read on for the long review if you want!! We found ourselves with an anxious puppy who couldn’t be alone and needed constant entertainment. He couldn’t sleep through the night and he needed constant frozen enrichment and chews and had an incredibly anxious stomach. Our entire house was gated off because he’d destroy anything he could access to try and get our attention. Absolutely nothing worked to help him calm down and find some peace. The final straw was when he started compulsively pulling his tail fur out when we would stop paying attention to him for 30 seconds. We were completely at our wits end and were desperate for someone who could bring the joy back into our Goose’s life and give us all some rest. We were certain goose would be a 5 week case but Vanessa and Josiah brought us back essentially a brand new dog in just 3 weeks! They were in constant communication (we have 82 photos and videos from Goose’s stay) and took amazing care of him. The constant communication and updates is so unique to Blackheart and gave us so much peace and confidence. Their love for dogs and their understanding of dog behavior and psychology brought us so much clarity and peace. The minute Josiah picked Goose up, Goose was immediately calm with him. Previous trainers had remarked how anxious Goose was with them (as if we weren’t living with the maniac) but Goose completely settled with Josiah’s energy. When they told us he’d be coming home at the three week mark, we were anxious ourselves. Josiah didn’t hesitate to hop on the phone for 45 minutes and answer all of our questions about very specific scenarios we needed Goose to be ready for. Turns out, all of them were an absolute breeze for Josiah and he had zero fear that Goose would be waking us up at 3 AM or destroying our furniture or needing chews just so we could eat our dinner. When they brought Goose back, they spent 3 hours with us training us on what he’d learned and it was just so clear how much they poured into him, how much they LOVE him, and how incredible they are. Josiah and Vanessa assured us they’d be available for follow up questions and even boarding for trips. Josiah’s already answered probably a dozen texts from me and I am so relieved to have them on our team. Goose can now fall asleep on place, walk in a heel or loose without pulling, leave things alone on command, sleep through the night and be left alone for hours at a time without spiraling. And he is so much happier!! This is truly a different dog! We are forever and ever and ever indebted to them.

Trainer Sarah Grizzle did an amazing job working with our Harvey boy who was scared and aggressive upon arrival. Within 5 weeks, the reinforcement of obedience, confidence building, and understanding of consequence helped Harvey return home confident, calm, and far more obedient than befofe. He knows sit, stay, lie, place, heel, off, and come. His recalls were never good, he would protest it completely, but Sarah helped get his recalls in top shape - now he is excited to do it on the first command. It's much easier for us to walk and socialize him with new dogs and people now, which has been a big stress reliever. Sarah kept us informed with photo and video progress during the entire program. Blackheart K9 has a fantastic program with trainers who love what they do. I highly recommend.
