Just picked up our dog today, so I will be updating this later on. We are so happy to have her home and do our follow up lessons to keep her training sharp. We picked Blackwater due to our dog showing reactivity and wanting to learn how we can best help her. She had snapped at two kids and growled at another prior to training and we want to make sure we are doing the right things to prevent this behavior and set her up for success. Thank y’all for all your hard work and patience. I’ll come back and update this in the future for anyone looking for trainers to know how our full experience has been.

I could not be happier at this establishment. It’s not just a group of people training k9s. This is an elite group of people who deeply care. If you want to find a group of family who will not only treat you with the respect you deserve, but they’ll treat your pup as if it was their own. I will continue to recommend Blackwater to anyone!

Blackwater K9 is the absolute best place I have been to in a long time. They treat you like family and your dogs are well taken care of. Alex, Charles, Pedro and Brandy are exceptional, caring and compassionate people who I will never be able to thank enough. These guys and gals can absolutely train a dog to do anything! Even after 6 months with very minimal training upkeep with Honey she will still automatically heel and sit when I walk outside. She remembers and responds to all her commands the same as she did when I picked her up. The foundational groundwork they lay for these dogs in training makes teaching new tasks and tricks so easy! Both of my dogs are incredibly easy to train now. I am so blessed to know them and I will never take any of my dogs to anyone else ever again. They have my loyalty and business for life.
I sent my 5yo dog Honey a GSD/APBT mix for a 6 wk board and train for obedience refresher and service dog evaluation. When I came to pick her up they were straight forward with me about her abilities to become a service dog and said she was too timid around people. Alex brought out a 17 mo old bullherder he thought would be perfect for me to be trained as a service dog and allowed me to take him home for a week to see if he was a good fit. That same dog is now named Diablo and is my fully trained service dog. He was trained by Alex who specifically worked with him in a wheelchair for a 6 wk board and train to train tasks and make sure Diablo was spot on with his obedience commands from a seated position. He even worked with him in a mobility harness teaching Diablo to walk at my pace to help support me.

Good people, my butters got homesick while there and they called me as soon as they thought she needed to go to the vet, vet said she was just homesick and just give her a couple weeks and she would be back to normal after the new care instructions to get her back up to health, they took great care of her and I’m glad I was able to give them a new dog to work with
