Blackwood Canine is an outstanding dog training company and the trainers have an in depth knowledge of training and assessing dog behavior. The trainers are patient, professional and give clear guidance to the dogs and owners. The programs offered are excellent for basic obedience and advanced training. I have had excellent results with both of my dogs and highly recommend Blackwood Canine.

My husband and I have been working with Blackwood Canine since our Weimaraner Drake was just 8 months old. We took him there for boarding and training. They did an amazing job keeping us in the loop with weekly updates, sending us pictures and videos of his progress. When it was time for him to come home, we had several one-on-one classes to go over training for the human. Fast forward 3 years, and I needed a refresher course, not for my dog! David has a wonderful way of watching my mistakes and teaching me how to correct them by explaining what I’m doing and how to fix it, along with the reasons behind it all. His explanations really help me understand why I need the correction and how it helps me with my boy. I know that if I ever need his help or have questions or concerns, he will be there to help me, and train me, with my dog. I certainly feel like I need the training and help, not my dog. And, David trains and teaches us both amazingly well. I cannot say enough good things about how well our experiences have been. David has a wealth of knowledge, is very down to earth, personable, and a professional. I would be a lost Weimaraner owner if I hadn’t found Blackwood Canine!

As a breeder, I have been coming to David for several years to guide me on the training of the dogs I keep in my breeding program. David is an excellent trainer and trains the dog or person in front of him, meaning he is able to modify his approach to suit the individual dog. I 100% recommend Blackwood for training.
