Blissful K9

Our pup Gus is a little under two and is decently trained at home. He’s a smart pup but we always thought he was a nervous dog. We could not for the life of us figure out how to get him to walk on a leash without freaking out. Atom immediately told us to switch out the collar for a Martin Gale Collar. This did not fix the problem, but he said the communication with Gus is clearer when we use it. It took about 30 minutes to get Gus to get the basics of changing directions and not yanking the collar at all times. It might not seem like a lot, but that gave us confidence that Gus could do it! It was an amazing progression! Atom taught us the skills we were lacking to lead Gus into being a more confident dog and not pull as much. Of course we have to keep the practice up or it won’t mean anything, but this was the first step we needed. Thank you Atom at Blissful K9!

We recently sent our Boykin Spaniel, Osa, to Blissful K9 for a two-week boarding and training “Boot Camp” to address some impulsive behaviors, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! From the moment we arrived, Atom, the trainer, formed a wonderful bond with Osa. She immediately responded to his guidance, and it was heartwarming to see her progress unfold. The training videos and pictures Atom shared with us and on Facebook gave us great peace of mind and allowed us to witness her development in real-time. We couldn’t believe our eyes when we she was at Home Depot and actually behaving on only her second day of camp. In just two weeks, Osa has transformed! She now exits her kennel calmly, responds to “leave it,” and her basic obedience has significantly improved. We’ve received countless compliments on how well-behaved she is now, especially with our new baby around. The facilities at Blissful K9 are immaculate, with spacious, clean kennels and expansive play yards that made us feel comfortable leaving her there. We can't thank Atom enough for his expertise and care. Osa is happier and more well-adjusted, and we wholeheartedly recommend Blissful K9 to anyone looking for exceptional dog training and boarding. Atom is... yeah I'm gonna say it... DA Bomb!! Our Mac (5 year old German Shepard) could identify as the poster pup for the breed, but put him on a leash and let him even smell another dog and he absolutely loses his mind. I mean he became a completely different dog. We searched at least a dozen trainers. Some wouldn't call back, some wouldn't work with aggressive breeds, some soar to think taking your dog for a walk is training. Then one day we were going to Home Depot and saw a guy out "working" with a couple of pit bulls. Ok, now I have to stop and talk to him. Turns out to be Atom, owner of Blissful K9. He was actually out "working" with numerous dogs. We spoke for a bit, got a business card and went about our way. We didn't call immediately as we were still considering calling others. Throughout the next week we saw Atom and a dog or numerous dogs inside of Home Depot as well as walking them up and down Broad Street. After seeing how"into" these dogs Atom is that we recognized the passion he has for dogs and finally called and scheduled our sessions. After 8 sessions we have a whole new dog when it comes to walking on a leash. I truly think we could have stopped going after the 3rd session as Atom seems to have a way to just understand what's going on in our Mac's mind and then show Mac, non-aggressively, how to correct those unwanted behaviors. If you need help with your pup, whether aggression or just simple basic training you need to at least give Atom at Blissful K9 a call.

Atom is an excellent K9 trainer because he really loves animals. This is one of the most important factors to consider when selecting a trainer. He also takes great care of your pet and makes sure they are safe. His kennel is in his house and it is climate-controlled and clean. Our dog Sage’s impulse control and socialization are greatly improved. He does not use shock collars, but positive reinforcement methods, which works much better in the long run. If you are considering a trainer, talk with him and I think you will be impressed. He also provides detailed documentation so that you can continue your dog’s training after they finish the boot camp.
