Bloomington Obedience Training Club

I am on week 9 of Flyball class with BOTC and honestly can't say enough good things. There was a waitlist to get started and it was well worth waiting. I dawdled a lot to start class because her biggest quirk from when I got her at 8 months old is an aversion of going through doorways and entering buildings. It is particularly bad when involving places that dogs frequent. We have worked a lot on building her confidence (no pun intended) but dog-centric indoor spaces are still a big challenge for her. I didn't want to ruin her confidence by trying to engage her in a class to early. However, within the first 2-3 classes she was completely comfortable with going to and from the building and she earnestly looks forward to class now. The class is small and tailored to each dog's level and strengths. The instructors not only care about teaching Flyball, but also are thoughtful about how the sport affects your dog's health overall. I was very impressed seeing how they handle their younger dogs with respect to their development and longevity. I am on the waitlist to start agility as well. I was told it may take 6 months, but if the agility instructors have the same consideration and passion about fostering my dog's well being as the Flyball team does, then I wouldn't dream of going elsewhere.
