Blue Dog Training & Behavior

My experience with Blue Dog Training could not be more wonderful. Sarah, Andrew, and I share quite a journey - from well before I even brought home my Newfoundland puppy. They have been with me every step of the way, always supportive, never judging, always ready to offer help. We did a board and train for our Newfie - Sarah has worked wonders with our puppy. The difference was remarkable. Our puppy is extremely well-socialized, friendly, confident, and well-behaved. She loves learning/training too! Since her return, I have taken her to a number of public places/events and everyone admires how well-behaved and social she is. We have a young child, so it was very important to us that we give the best head start and foundation to our puppy and set her (and our family) up for success. Sarah and Andrew did just that - our puppy has seamlessly adapted to our family. We cannot wait to continue her training with Sarah and Andrew, and at home!

Cannot say enough wonderful things about Sarah and Andrew at Blue Dog! We starting taking our fearful dog to Sarah when we first adopted her in 2016 and the advice and guidance we received was a lifesaver. It is also our absolute favorite place to board our dogs. Not only are our pups excited when we arrive, we receive photos and updates over their stay. Never a need to worry when your pets are in their hands -- they will be taken care of as one of their own.

Sarah with Blue Dog Training has been such an amazing trainer and business owner while we had two mini golden doodle puppies and a husky puppy to support in training. Right off the bat, Sarah was clear and communicative with her training style and the directions she takes to ensure an environment that was supportive to the puppy and family growth. This set everyone up for success from day one. She emphasized that these puppies would learn how to learn to make certain that their growth does not end when they went home. We have now done multiple weeks of training and boarding with Blue Dog and every time we pick up the puppies, we are astounded by the progress. These puppies are excited and willing to continue their growth at home. Blue Dog sends videos and notes to us as the puppies’ stay continues to ensure we are up to date on how we can best support these puppies as well. When the puppies come home, we feel prepared and set up for success by using the same cues, supports, and consistent training that they have instructed of us. The methods Sarah uses are effective and long lasting and truly made a huge impact in our puppies. On top of the stellar training, we have been so pleased with the communication and commitment Blue Dog has to their mission and their love for what they do.

I can’t say enough about Blue Dog Training. Sarah Kalnajs and her husband Andrew trained my puppy Izzi in their stay and train program. They have a depth of experience and understanding of animal behavior which is hard to find. They sent me daily updates and videos of Izzi’s progress. They not only trained Izzi but they took me to school too. They taught me so much about dog behavior. They went above and beyond in answering questions day or night. They are very caring people. If you are lucky enough to cross paths with Sarah and Andrew and Blue Dog Training, trust me, you and your dog are in for a very positive experience, well worth the investment.
