Thank you so much for sharing this information! It is true that the website does show all the programs offered throughout the year, even when unavailable. (We know this is a bit confusing and we are looking to have this resolved early this year, it's a bummer for us too.) The team member you spoke to is still learning and as I am sure most can agree this is a stressful time of year to learn new skills, so this is going to be a fantastic opportunity to teach her and add to her evolving skill set. Our entire team is always looking for feedback on how to be better and these reviews truly do help that process. For a three month old puppy there are so many opportunities for laying the perfect foundation to a healthy puppy and a lifelong bond between you both. Obedience (the basics) is only one of the pillars of that foundation. Socialization to people, places, things and other experiences that your pup will see in his life is the most important factor right now. Puppy’s who have a focus on socialization early on ultimately have a higher rate of success in learning the foundational obedience and later understanding the more advanced levels of learning. While we currently do not have a puppy class going, we are hoping to have the dates solidified for the spring class later this month. Your puppy will have passed a fantastic socialization opportunity by that time. So yes, it is possible that it was explained in a sales pitchy way and that is something we will have a team discussion about. However, the individual program is a very valid offer for several reasons; a program like that allows you to begin the socialization process in a safe and controlled environment with guidance from a professional trainer on advancing those skills outside of training, it also allows you to have a trainer already on hand should your pup show fear or reactivity during this window of growth, it is a program that will grow with your pup’s needs. We will also incorporate the rewarding obedience foundation you are looking for as you are going through the program. The individualized programs work because you are still getting the distractions of a group situation, as needed, and you are getting the one-on-one training to progress at a much faster pace. Group classes are great, but we focus solely on the obedience side of things there. There is a difference in the development of the puppy with these programs, but the individual programs are not for everyone and we get that. We also understand that the way things are explained through text messages versus a call can also be confusing.
