Blue Mountain K-9

I truly cannot say enough good things about Blue Mountain K9. I have used their 1:1 training, boarding, daycare, and grooming services, and every single experience has reinforced that this is more than just a dog facility. It is a place that genuinely understands dogs, but also understands the people who are trying their best to do right by them. From my very first experience, they showed me the kind of care and kindness that you do not forget. One of my dogs had an accident in the car on the way there and completely ruined a mat we had just bought and loved. We were already stressed, in a hurry, and trying to leave for a trip. Instead of acting annoyed or brushing it off like it was not their problem, the morning daycare worker took time out of her day to clean it thoroughly for us. That may sound like a small thing to some people, but to me it said everything about the kind of people working there. They saw a stressful moment and chose to help. My husband had never had dogs as an adult, and my own experience before this was mostly childhood small dogs and a senior Shih Tzu I had in my early 20s, who passed away last year. Then we ended up with two dogs who came from rough beginnings and needed more from us than just food, love, and good intentions. Stitch was rescued from an irresponsible breeding situation and had only known living outside in a crate her whole life. Fergie was also adopted from a rescue after being dumped with his entire litter, who were facing euthanasia due to shelter overcrowding. Neither of them came to us as a “blank slate.” They came with their own histories, needs, personalities, fears, and instincts. On top of that, I had never had large dogs before. I had no real experience with bigger, stronger, more intense dogs, and I knew I had a lot to learn. I am not a perfect dog owner. I never will be. But I care deeply about doing right by my dogs, and Blue Mountain K9 has made that feel so much less overwhelming. Having access to training, daycare, grooming, and boarding all in one place has been incredibly helpful. It is also conveniently located within a reasonable distance from my small town, which makes a huge difference when you are trying to stay consistent and actually follow through with the care your dogs need. What I appreciate most is that I feel like they meet both the dogs and the owners where they are. They do not make you feel judged for needing help. They do not make you feel embarrassed for not knowing everything. They give you options, support, and a sense that your dogs are in capable hands. That matters so much when you are trying to build a better life for dogs who did not get the start they deserved. I also have a lot of confidence in the owner. His experience speaks for itself, and that kind of knowledge brings real peace of mind. When you are leaving your dogs somewhere for daycare, boarding, grooming, or training, trust is everything. I do not take lightly who I allow around my dogs, especially knowing where they came from and how much work has gone into helping them feel safe and understood. Blue Mountain K9 has become one of those places that makes life with dogs feel more manageable, more supported, and honestly more hopeful. I am very grateful to have a facility like this close enough for us to use regularly, and I hope to continue bringing Stitch and Fergie there for many, many years.
