Blue Mountain K-9

EDITED TO ADD: My boy just got back from a 4-week board and train with Andy and I could not be happier. I picked him up yesterday and, even though I haven't gotten to do the follow up sessions yet (we go tomorrow) I've already seen a major change. For background, this pup was a foster fail and didn't have the start that I wanted him to due to mess ups with vaccination schedules and miscommunications with the rescue. He needed help with reactivity and overall craziness due to being a puppy with little socialization. Prior to the board and train specifically I was rarely able to have him out and roaming in the house without CONSTANT supervision. He found everything he could to tear apart and destroy for mental stimulation. He would go so far as to follow me around the house and take any object I'd just touched to get me to follow him and interact. Obviously he was bored, but it seemed like no amount of attention I could provide was enough. Even with puzzle toys and training, I was struggling intensely. In just one day, even though I don't even know all of the "buttons" that have been newly installed, I've been able to have him be out and about independently with no issue. I've been able to work on my computer or around the house with little concern for the chaos that will ensue. Even right now as I type this out, he's perfectly content chewing on a pig ear on his cot with me sitting beside him. I'm sure after we continue I'll find even more things that I'm more than ecstatic about but OH MY WORD! I can't thank Blue Mountain K-9 enough. Original Review: Highly recommend training and boarding with Blue Mountain. They caught my interest as I was passing them on 119. I eventually reached out when I needed some help with integrating a new dog into my home as my older dog deals with resource guarding. Andrew walked me through resource guarding and was both knowledgable and honest with me, no sugar-coating. He gave me recommendations and invited me to sign up for an evaluation. We went through it and he gave me more detailed advice. I boarded with them for a few nights before signing up for a 6-week training course. The dogs came back happy and healthy and the staff clearly cared for my pups. I think it was Cindy who was there when I picked up and I could tell she was so attentive to my two knuckleheads. She knew them both by name and gave me a rundown of their time while I was gone. We're now three weeks into a 6-week course and have put down a deposit for board and train for my new puppy. I can not recommend them enough! Andrew has been working with me and my Texas and it's so clear he has such a passion and love for what he does. Texas has an issue with tall men with beards but from the outset loved Andrew. After training my first dog I thought I was so knowledgable--training with Blue Mountain changed my whole view in the best way possible. I've shifted my view on what I can train and how. I'm now implementing the skills we've been learning with my older girl so we have everyone on the same page. The methods we've been learning have bolstered both my dog's confidence and my own. His anxiety has decreased significantly and he's been so receptive to all of the exercises and routines we've been building. Within just the few sessions we've had, we've been able to fix some of the bad habits and anxious behaviors I've been seeing for months. Texas has more trust in me and has been able to go out to stores and other new environments with minimal issue. I can't wait to do our board and train and continue with weekly sessions to level up both of my dogs!

Extremely Disappointed – Would Not Recommend I should have read a few of the other reviews before choosing this kennel, as my experience was unfortunately very similar. When I picked up my dog, she was in terrible condition—dirty, covered in urine, and extremely thirsty, as if she hadn’t had access to water. It was clear she had been neglected. I had been told we would receive photo and text updates during her stay, but we only got updates when we reached out and asked. Even then, we never received a single photo. I also found it concerning that they refused to let me see the kennel area before boarding, which now makes a lot more sense given what we experienced. I called the office multiple times to check on my dog while she was there and received no answer. The lack of communication, transparency, and basic care is alarming. Please be cautious—this place is not what it claims to be. I absolutely do not recommend it.
