Blue Ribbon Kennels

It’s been over a year since our dogs were at this place. We had a unique situation where we were in transition and our dogs needed to stay an extended amount of time past what the normal training time was. They didn’t charge me extra and I appreciated that but one thing has always bothered me and that is that our larger male dog was noticeably more skinny and ribs were showing some when we picked the dogs up. I know he was very stubborn and quite strong I’m not sure if he was denied food or had it dramatically reduced as a way to break his spirit or what but I hadn’t left a review up until this point because I sort of felt obligated to be nice since they didn’t charge me for the extra time. I honestly can’t say that the training worked but our dogs were older when we brought them so that may have been a factor. Our boy being so skinny when I picked him up always bothered me and I just really feel like it’s something that needs to be watched.

I was very hopeful that Blue Ribbons Kennels would successfully tame my newly adopted disobedient Siberian husky. When I visited him around 2 weeks I was impressed with his ability to walk alongside me without pulling. I had looked forward to bringing him home after 6 weeks. However, I am sad to report that his new behavior was superficial and short lived. As soon as he returned home he resorted back to being unruly, jumping, refusing to sit or remain seated, and pulling when walking. Like the typical prison inmate, he had simply adapted and responded to his new controlled environment and routine at the kennels., a complaint I have recently heard from others who have boarded their dogs at training kennels. Upon returning to his home, he did what ex-cons usually do, resorted to his usual bad behavior. I am disappointed as I spent a lot of money to have him trained. I regret not purchasing the e-collar instead as it is very effective and would have saved money and time.
