Breakthrough K9 Training

The best dog that I've ever had....I owe that to Lenny and Stephanie at Breakthrough K9 Training. I had a 90lb boxer mix (Skilos...that's greek for "dog") that at year and a half was anxious, energetic, and had started to get mouthy. He was too big and strong to be putting his teeth on anyone. Breakthrough K9 helped me to realize that Skilos was never resting. He was always on alert to every movement or sound. He would get sensory overloaded and exhibit behaviors that seemed frustrated or grumpy. The training they offered gave Skilos the permission to rest, not react, and be calm. They taught him recall, place, walking manners, among other things. Skilos became a great walking partner, dependable, and a great companion for my kids. My seven year old at the time could even walk Skilos and maintain complete control - of course we still supervised this! It was a sight to see the mountain of a dog with my little one in charge! When Skilos passed, it was like losing my best buddy and my kids' watchful, gentle giant. Thank you, Breakthrough K9 for all of your work that helped create the many memories of our Skilos!

Breakthrough has trained both my Cane Coro’s Not only am I pleased with the results, they treat the dogs like family and create a bond with them. You know you picked the right place when your dogs love them, the bond between them and the dogs are visible. They are in this business for the love of the animals. We loved our 4 year old rescue, Bevo, but his anxiety and barking increased after our move. I avoided having people over because he barked uncontrollably. At times, he showed his relaxed personality and was so inviting and playful. But we felt overwhelmed with the frequency and intensity of his reactions and it started to effect his walks. Breakthrough’s philosophies and 2 week immersion training seemed miraculous. His barking stopped almost completely since his training. He still needs correction but he responds to our commands, he is content and has so much less anxiety! At a party, he calmly socialized with 15 people. In the past, his barking would escalate and not stop. Our guests commented on how he seemed like a different dog. Bevo walked around with a smile and wagging his tail. I am so thankful to Lenny, Stephanie and the staff. They were very professional and thorough. The facility and farm is beautiful. They also suggested reading that made us think about our behavior and leadership skills. Their response and openness to questions and refresher visits is also a big plus.
