Building Bonds

Kim and Building Bonds was exactly what was needed to help with my dog's (Mabel) reactivity to other dogs when on leash. The result is a more confident dog who is easier to walk and play with. One of the best results has been my ability to more easily recognize Mabel's triggers early on and then effectively diffuse them. Kim helps not just with your dog, but more importantly with helping instill confidence in the dog owner/handler. Mabel and I came to Kim with Mabel wearing a prong collar. It was the only way I dared walk her due to her reactivity each time we encountered another dog on our walks. The prong collar is no longer needed due to our work with Kim.

I can't say enough about how helpful Kim was. She's the real deal. Our dog was a rescue and a former stray. As first time dog owners, it was a lot for my girlfriend and I to handle and Kim provided all the tools to address every issue we were having. Kim also gave such valuable insight into why our dog was behaving the way she would sometimes, and it really helped me to understand her much better and be more in tune with what my dog is thinking or feeling in various situations. Throughout the process, I was incredibly impressed with the shift in behavior in our dog. Be clear and detailed and follow all of the instructions you're given, and you'll be well on your way to a well-trained pup.

I worked with Kim with my older puppy who hadn’t been walked much or socialized in the outside world prior to me adopting her. As a result she had some fear of people and over-reactions to other dogs on leash. Kim helped us work through her behavioral issues and set an amazing foundation for her training. I would recommend building bonds and Kim to anyone, especially with those who have some fearful dogs. My dog and I now are able to communicate much better and her reactions to different environmental changes are far more positive! We did the 8-week fretful Fido session and it was worth every penny. I am so glad I could invest in my dog and that Building Bonds exists! Thank god for Kim and her staff.

We attended puppy kindergarten at Building Bonds and got a ton out of it. The staff is very thorough with Covid-19 protocols but still manages to make the experience great. There are no painful or punitive corrections for the dogs, only positive reinforcement, which is exactly what I was looking for. We'll be signing my pup up for more classes as soon as my schedule settles down a bit. She misses it!
