We are so thankful to have connected with Theresa! When we adopted our dog he was very scared and shut down. She helped us learn about his body language and why he was acting the way he was. Her training method provided our dog with consistency and clear communication which helped him grow into a confident and happy boy! Theresa is very knowledgeable and was amazing to work with. She would even board our dog when we needed to travel which was an added bonus! I would definitely recommend her!

Theresa had been a great help in training our little pup….. we were new dog parents who dosnt know much about dogs and training. We got to know about her through referal and things changed forever after meeting her. She not only trained our puppy, but made sure we learned her ways inorder to get best results. She is the best and her training methods are so productive. Every personal training session we took, she not only worked with our dog but also with us to make sure we clearly understand. She helped us with so much knowledge sharing. She is now my go to person for any training and boarding needs. We cannot trust anyone else with our dog as much as we trust her.

We feel Theresa was was truly God sent. After years without a dog in the house, we decided we were ready to give it a go with a puppy. Within weeks we knew we were not as prepared to welcome this pup into the family as thought. Fortunately by fate or divine intervention we ran into Theresa as she was socializing another pup at a big box store. At this time our pup was 12 weeks old and we were trying anything and everything to get control of him, while pulling our hair, wondering what were thinking? Within a few work sessions with Theresa and her program, we were seeing the dog we had hoped for. We continue to use her program and we know we she is just a phone call away to help out if we need her. Both our pup and us are better off, as the lessons were tailored to our pup as well as teaching us what we needed to do to make it all work. We cannot say enough good things about Theresa and the help she has given us!!

Theresa with By my Side Canine was the relief we were seeking. We adopted a fearful rescue dog and were struggling to find DIY online advice that was appropriate. Our dog was not motivated by the typical positive reinforcement of praise and petting. In fact, that just scared her more. She was running from us, other people, dogs, anything really. Her fear was due to kennel confinement and no socialization for the first 1.5 years of her life. So, I was keen to find non-kennel confinement-based methods of training. Theresa came to our home and walked us through tailor-made training routines to build her trust and confidence. Thanks to her expertise she has become a happy, fun-loving, and obedient dog. We still have work to do, but we now believe we will get there! With Theresa you’re not on the clock. She is very results driven. If our time was up and she didn’t see the progress she wanted, she would persevere to see the process working to change the negative behaviors we needed her help to address. She teaches methods to promote positive behaviors that can be applied to any goal you have. Our training sessions are complete, but we continue to use the skills we learned. Theresa is also happy to answer calls, texts, and continues to be a great resource to date.

Theresa was highly referred to us by a local K-9 trainer/sporting dog trainer and I am so thankful we were able to get in with her. She taught our pup so much but I think she taught me even more so I can continue training my dog. With Theresa’s help, I can confidently say that I have the tools and resources to raise a happy, obedient dog in my family. I feel like she went above and beyond and had my pup, and my, best interest in mind.
