I wish I could share a better experience. I really wanted to like their program as I had heard great things but unfortunately our experience was not that. I think the owner Jas is great and I’m confident if we had worked with him directly we would’ve had a much different experience. However after speaking with him and being pushed pretty hard to sign up. It felt like once they had my money, the experience changed. The trainer we were assigned to work with was extremely dismissive and was not open to hearing what I as the dogs owner wanted. It felt like he was just following a set of standards set by the program and not flexible to work on specific things that we wanted in our private lesson. To be transparent- my dog is an adult and we have been through many different training programs. We came to CaliK9 as we wanted to address specific issues we are having. Working with a trainer who is not flexible to accommodate and understand what we want is not what we were looking for at all. Additionally when addressing our issues with the admin, they were equally as dismissive and tried to say it was because we didn’t know how dog training should work. Overall we are extremely disappointed in our experience and the response of the company.

I love CaliK9! I have a one year-old rescue GSD/Malinois that I adopted in November and has since developed some reactivity and aggression with dogs and people. We started the CaliK9 program about six weeks ago. We have had three private lessons, one semi-private lesson, 3 zoom classes and two very small group lessons. I can’t believe how well he’s doing! Most of his reactivity has come from lack of socialization with people and dogs in his previous life. With CaliK9, you are able to have (safely) access to socialization which is not something I have been able to find with any other trainer. Hamza (our trainer) is incredibly calm, knowledgeable and supportive. Constantly reassuring and letting me know we’re doing well, even if there’s a little setback. I am so excited to drive the 1 1/2 hours every week to get to class! Madison (administrator) is very quick to respond and always so lovely and helpful. She’s been through this as well, so she understands what we are all going through. I can’t thank CaliK9 enough and look forward to our future together!

I followed CaliK9 on Instagram for months before I needed any dog training. I really appreciated all his videos and the free knowledge he was sharing. Later when I got new puppy I knew he would need training sooner rather than later. I paid for all of the classes at my local PetSmart thinking that would be enough as he was a very shy dog. After he warmed up in the classes he did very well, however it was less than a year later when he started showing "aggressive, possessive, atypical" frenchie behavior. As soon as I saw Jas offering his CaliK9 Master Class I immediately signed up. I was skeptical of a zoom only training situation and assumed this was just to get more money out of you when your issues aren't resolved after the first round of training. However, I was so surprised, Jas was there for every live weekly season and every live Q and A, often staying much later than scheduled to answer all of our questions and help each us individually. He gave answers in reaL time with corrections and suggestions for modification. My dog and I worked 2 to 4 times a day training to get up to speed on Jas's program and the difference is day and night. By no means can I say my dog is 1000% obedient, but he has come a long way and we still use the program everyday. I can not say enough good things about CaliK9 and Jas's program. He has lived the heartbreak of what can happen with an untrained dog and has the best approach I have found. When he says you have to have basic obedience before you can tackle bigger issues, trust him! Trust the process!! Jas is the real deal, an amazing trainer who really cares about every dog and person he encounters!
