We went to Cali k9 because our fabulous rescue dog has a huge problem with other dogs. She is already trained, but her reactivity to dogs was not cured. We paid for a 20 minute call with Jas describing our issue. He prescribed his elite package. Attending our first semi private class was a bit of a shocker as there were 6 dogs in class. The trainer was very good but it was a lot with 6 dogs. Next class included not only 6-7 dogs, but an extremely aggressive dog. Next class once again included an aggressive dog and in addition, all beginner dogs and owners. We called and lodged our complaint and were told that semi private should only be 4 dogs. We had two good weeks where that was the case and then back up to 6 or 7 dogs. Additionally, although the instructor was phenomenal with the dogs, he consistently ran over with the class before, and then still ended our class on time. We ended up with 45 minute classes with 6-7 dogs, instead of 1 hour with 4 dogs. We spoke to Jas again, he agreed to refund a prorated amount and then we never received that or a call back to our calls or emails. This place is a factory and sells packages to everyone, makes you feel that your dogs issues are s factor in their assignment, and then puts everyone basically in the same package. They know how to train dogs but not how to run a business.

What will you say if you see a dog as shown in the photo? Abused? illtreated? Starved?? Or may be all of these This is what happened to our dog in 6 weeks training program with Calik9. The worst thing is that our celebrity dog trainer call this as healthy weight loss. It does not stop here, my dog went missing from their San Jose facility and none of their staff has any clue about it. We were surprised when we got a call from San Jose Animal Control that they found our dog - who we believed was in Calik9 facility - on the streets. We were thankful to god that nothing happened to our pet. This is when it came to light that our pet was on a shock collar with max setting. I dare any of you to hold the shock collar with max setting and press the button - that’s the level of torture our dog went through for 6 weeks. It was so unbearable that our dog preferred to run away than stay there and face the torture. Our celebrity Dog trainer calls the weight loss as well as using of shock collar as normal. As per him shock collar was off - but he did not have any justification of why he used it in first place. For me it seemed like a threat for dogs. So what was supposed to be a training for my pet became torture for her. Me and my family still dread the day we left her at calik9 for 6 weeks of this ordeal. In the end what behavior correction which was expected is not even close to being achieved. To this our so called celebrity dog trainer has offered us more private session of torture for our pet. I hope none of the pets and pet parent go through this. My only suggestion is not to go by Insta video or Netflix series as they are just an eye wash - you would notice none of the videos show shock collar but in reality it is there. We think our dogs training was incomplete thus we asked for refund of our money so that we can get a private trainer for our dog - this was denied by Jas. So friends be very cautious before you use your hard earned money with Calik9 and leave your pet under their vigilance - you have no idea how they are really treating your loved one.

5 stars 10/2023 - So far, so good, they are very responsive even though I am a major bug-a-boo. I email almost everyday while my rescue is in training. You can see that they enjoy thier jobs in the videos. 12/9/23 - Not even a week out of training and her bad behaviors are in full force. I have emailed them for help. I taught her to sit, lay down, stay, etc. Before she went there, I see they do this with the positive reinforcement. I feel like I'm doing exactly what they showed me. I'm going to go to an in person class and see what I'm doing wrong if it's me. Keep you updated. 12/16/2023 - In person class, walked in building, she was trying to get another participant and their dog. I'm yanking straight up, saying No, she will stop for a bit then start again. An employee took her and worked with her for a bit to make sure she remembered everything and she did. (I do work with her at home on the basics). Then it was my turn, I did have some of the commands wrong, for example box, I called place, I had come and break down. Everytime I would walk her around she would try to lunge toward other dog, so now we tried out .... will write more, work calls. Let's just say better.
