Call of the K9

I started my learning with Anne when my newfypoo was about 4 months old. Today, he is a little over 2. The invaluable teaching I received, and it was me learning, not Toby, has created an almost perfect dog. Anne gave me the confidence I needed to show Toby it's ok to be a dog. Let me tell you what he can do! He is an expert on recall, he's an A+ participant at the dog park, (he will not leave me out of his sight), he can walk leash free (lead dragging). This was all learned by the training at Call of the K9. If I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you, Anne!

I highly recommend Anne Hendrickson as a dog trainer because of the strong foundation she offered us as a family. A few months back we adopted a puppy through Spot’s Last Stop. Although we had trained two dogs before, we thought that we would take advantage of the free session offered through Spot’s Last Stop with a trainer on their list named Anne Hendrickson based on her focus on socialization and such. What I did not realize is how blown away I was going to be by the insight Anne offered us. From her first interaction with our dog and us, I realized how brilliantly insightful Anne is. Anne ready my email (down to my signature details) as we arranged for an appointment. She started training with Sasha and us as she talked through how to get Sasha to go get a treat and not jump up on her, us, or our kiddos. Anne was familiar with our dog breed and shared thoughts about how we could best serve not only her, but also our needs as a family as we integrated our puppy into it. Our first hour went so well that we asked to sign up for more sessions to ensures we learned how to best train our dog. Those follow up sessions offered us so much knowledge about our dog as Anne taught us to read how our specific dog was responding as she did it and how we could be responsive as well. Additionally, Anne went above and beyond for us by inviting and answering questions that we had as things came up with our dog. For example, when our dog was trying to herd our kids, Anne offered some ideas of how to focus on connection between them rather than controlling the dog (or kids) to ensure a strong, compassionate bond between our dog and kids. Anne offered so many options to help our dog experience the environment (water, walks, other animals and people, etc.) in healthy ways that I am ever grateful for her help. Anne’s ability to offer insightful and practical options to allow for respectful boundaries for all beings involved convinced me that she is one of the best trainers that I will ever encounter. I have no hesitations with recommending her and we will continue to seek her services with future pups in our care.
