FirstBarkLiz was wonderful and she was so in tune with our dog and listened to us and our concerns! She was fantastic working with a deaf dog and teaching us not only how to train an adolescent but how to train a deaf dog and he has made wonderful strides thanks to all of her work!

How long will it take to train my dog?
Length of time depends upon you, your dog, and your goals. In any one lesson, we can cover 1-3 topics over the course of an hour. You may wish to have multiple lessons on one topic. I joined Elizabeth's group class at Foothills Animal Shelter with Hunter, my 8 month, out-of-control, black lab. What a great experience to learn from Elizabeth, who brings so much expertise to help both dogs and owners! We still have a lot of work ahead of us to get Hunter to be calm and leash-ready for public places but we have new approaches introduced by Elizabeth and can already see improvements. I was particularly impressed by Elizabeth's ability to identify and address individual dogs' needs in a group class. Thank you so much!

Elizabeth shines in her acuity to see and interpret dog behavior and then to create and adjust training plans that allow for progress. My dog loves her. She makes training genuinely fun and eliminates the frustration that is so common elsewhere. It's a joy to work with her and I cannot endorse Calvert Dog Training more strongly.
I had the pleasure of assisting Elizabeth with some of her puppy classes at the foothills animal shelter, and I couldn’t recommend it more to new puppy owners. She is incredibly knowledgeable and personable, and the classes have real world applications to help dogs become much more confident in everyday activities.

We had such a great experience with Elizabeth and her boarding program! She took incredible care of our almost 5 months old puppy, Nellie, over a week while we were on vacation. We saw so much growth in such a short time. Nellie came back noticeably more confident being out in public after being thoughtfully socialized in a variety of businesses and environments. She also learned better play manners with other dogs—how to engage appropriately and how to take breaks, which has been huge for us. On top of that, she helped reinforce and continue Nellie’s potty training, she came back home indicating when she needed to go out. We also loved receiving daily photo and video updates of Nellie’s progress—it was so great to see how well she was doing and how much care and attention she was getting. We felt completely confident leaving Nellie in her care and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a great positive reinforcement trainer.
