Calvert Dog Training

Elizabeth came to our home to help our fearful dog become more comfortable with car rides. Her positive reinforcement approach worked wonders and after 2 months of following her recommendations, our pup was willingly jumping into the car -- which meant we were then able to participate in her Beginner Dog class at Foothills Animal Shelter. Elizabeth was very attentive to the needs of each dog in the class and the progress each dog made by the end was inspiring. Elizabeth's method is a testament to how positive-reinforcement methods of training not only greatly influence the behavior the dog, but also the relationship between the dog and the human. A wonderful experience for our dog and his humans!

After attending a beginner level group class with my dog I am now a BIG fan of Elizabeth at Calvert Dog Training! She understands adult learners and is able to convey massive amounts of useful information in multiple different ways, so that we can understand and implement positive reward-based training techniques with our beloved canine family members. While all attendees had a variety of concerns and experience levels with our dogs, she was able to address each participant’s unique needs and insure that we all were able to apply the various concepts appropriately. She made sure that we had adequate opportunities to practice the methods presented and provided timely and useful feedback so that we could be sure to properly implement these methods outside of the classroom setting. Elizabeth’s expertise and passion for her work, along with her kind and caring demeanor helped to make this a wonderful experience for me AND my dog. She even took extra time to help some of us with our individual concerns, all the while making us feel like our challenges were both valid and manageable. I would highly recommend her services, both in a group setting and for private consultation.
