Camelot K9 Academy

Morgan and Angie did an EXCELLENT job training my stubborn boy Teddy! He “graduated” in April of 2021 and I wanted to make sure everything “stuck” before I wrote my review. tl;dr: I didn’t need to wait! Before his 3 weeks at Camelot, walks were not enjoyable because he was constantly pulling and I was constantly frustrated. I would silently panic when I saw another dog coming towards us because I knew Teddy would nearly pull me over trying to make a friend. Today on our walk, we passed several dogs who reminded me of Teddy pre-Camelot. After a gentle reminder to heel, my boy could not have cared less. Gone are the days when he would bite hands, nearly tackle people with jumping hugs, and try to force all of his 75 pounds into unsuspecting laps. Now, when people don’t feel like playing, they tell him to “place” and he chews his bone on his bed. Or, if we’re out and kids want to pet him, he sits calmly and licks faces. Or shakes hands if they ask him to. I know I enjoy Teddy a lot more and I think he’s happier because he’s calm and content (unless we’re playing, of course!) He loves to please and now that he knows the rules and expectations, he’s always trying to do his best. A trained dog is a happy dog! And a trained dog’s owner is a SUPER happy owner! I can’t thank Camelot enough for all their hard work! And if I ever need to board Teddy, there is no other place I would take him! 5 stars and 2 paws up!

So I never write review but I felt the need to share our experience. I have almost 2 year old German Shepard that likes to challenge other dogs. He loves people but not to keen on other dogs. My husband and I didn’t know what to do or how to handle this. I did the research and came to Camelot. They were extremely responsive and detailed in every interaction we have had. They let me and my husband tour the facility, ask them a million questions, and help put our nerves at ease. We did a 5 week board and training program and I can’t lie and say we were reluctant. We were afraid our dog would loose his goofy behaviors or forget us or even hate us. But none of those things happened and actually our dog came out happier in the end. The staff at Camelot trained him so well that he is more confident and noticeably happier. During the 5 weeks we received daily updates on everything he did (pee/poop/field trip/train/etc.), we got daily summaries on how his progress was, and weekly pictures and videos. Also anytime I called for a specific question they always answered or called me back within a timely manner and was always willing to help me. Even now that my dog is out of training they are willing to help anytime. For us we chose Camelot because Angie and Morgan are great and it shows. I know several people who have had their dogs trained/boarded/ or bought from Camelot and they only have good things to say. Camelot also has a get facility set up and wonderful staffing. We also liked that Angie lives on sight which gave me peace of mind. We got our dog back with a better mental and physical attitude. IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY.
