Canine Case Squad

After struggling for two years with our cattle dog Bandit's reactivity issues despite trying various trainers and classes, I was at my wit's end. We were even asked to leave our last obedience class due to Bandit's behavior. However, Canine Case Squad came highly recommended, and I am beyond grateful for the transformation they've facilitated in him. Bandit, a sweet and loving dog with people, was absolutely terrified of other dogs, making simple activities like hikes, walks, and car rides a nightmare. But after multiple sessions and a two-week stay at Canine Case Squad, Bandit has made remarkable progress. He is now a more confident dog and can be safely introduced to other dogs. He even gets along with a new puppy in the family! I've been able to bring him to agility sessions with other dogs in class, and although he still has minor outbursts, we've learned the correct way to address them, making training sessions a much more positive experience. One crucial aspect of our experience with Canine Case Squad is the education they provided us. They not only worked with Bandit but also trained us on how to properly deal with the issues we had been responding to incorrectly in the past. This comprehensive approach has been invaluable in Bandit's progress. I am immensely pleased with the care and effort put in by Shari and the team at Canine Case Squad. They didn't give up on Bandit and worked tirelessly to understand his issues. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone facing similar challenges. Canine Case Squad highly recommended Our dog jumped out of a window one day after we left the house for work. We obviously needed immediate help with her separation anxiety, which developed after the pandemic. We got that help from Canine Case Squad. They worked with us, gave us homework, sent written reminders and instructions, and sent videos of us interacting with our dog in their workspace to show us what we were doing wrong or right. They also corresponded with our veterinarian to help coordinate treatment, medication, and training plans. Be prepared to do the homework (practicing the training exercises at home) and be consistent with your dog, and watch the magic happen. I was able to email CCS with any questions I had in between the in-person sessions, and they would respond immediately. And I had a lot of questions at first about whether we were doing our homework properly. Improvements in our dog’s behavior include: -No more pulling on the leash. We learned how to use a prong collar, and we now can walk the dog without getting pulled all over or hurting our shoulders. She walks quietly and goes to the bathroom when we give her permission (Just don’t forget to give her permission). CCS figured out the right size of collar for us and advised us how to walk her while watching us practice. We never would have gotten past the initial crying and pulling and jumping and nipping that went on during the start of using that collar if they hadn’t been there telling us to keep going and just ignore that behavior. After a surprisingly short time, the dog fell in line. It’s all about the person’s attitude, as trite as that sounds. -Our dog now needs to spend any extended time alone in the house in her crate, instead of having free reign in the house. At first it took a lot to get her in and she would cry, scream, and shake the crate all day. Now we put her right in and she is quiet all day. It may not seem like a lot, but it’s everything when you have to hear that crying. -No more rushing through the door. She sits and waits for permission before going in or out of any door. Even the car. I highly recommend the crew at Canine Case Squad if your dog is suffering from separation anxiety. You have to be willing to hear what you are doing wrong and take instruction, but it is definitely worth it!

After a few disheartening conversations with a vet who told us our beloved dog may not be a safe fit for our family, we frantically hit the internet looking for ways to keep her. That’s when we found Canine Case Squad and some real hope. Their impressive knowledge of dog behavior, passion for what they do and intuitive gifts are undeniable. Each person who works there is remarkable, dedicated and honest. Our dog Lumi was rescued at 3yrs old and after a few months began exhibiting some problematic behaviors. Aggression towards visitors in the home and resource guarding with our cats. After her two week stay at CCS and follow ups for our human training, we are thrilled to say we can safely have visitors in the home and are much better able to manage and control the guarding! Giving up our Lumi was never an option and we are eternally grateful for everyone at CCS for patiently working with us and our girl to ensure she is the happiest and most secure pup she can be.
