Canine Coach

On Linda's recommendation, we have a ritual with Grace, our Bouvier. Every time we go out either the back door or the front door we ask her to sit before we will open the door. Then we started making her sit for just another second or two as we looked outside (for squirrels and rabbits, but she didn’t know that). Yesterday I was taking her out to walk, she sat at the door, I opened the door, she still sat. Then I looked down at my hand where I had BOTH ends of the leash, I had never hooked it to her! We are right on a very busy street and my mental lapse could have ended horribly. I was so grateful for Linda and our training as I looked down at Gracie, looking up at me and waiting patiently for me to say ‘let’s go’. Thank you!!!!

I took my female Akita puppy for two series of classes. We worked on come over and over. Last month the classes paid off big time. We had a fire in our barn in the middle of the night. When I opened the door to go out my doggie slipped past me and headed toward the fire which was raging. I was terrified that she would get hurt so I called to her 'Come'. She stopped turned around and came to me. I was stunned. Her training took hold. She remembered what she learned in class. Pula Davis
