Canine College, Bow Wow Resort

The team here has done wonders over the last couple of years with our anxious, reactive rescue dog. Sean and Robin, along with the whole crew, have spent so much time helping to build his confidence and trust in humans, which has done so much for his ability to enjoy the outdoors, walks, hikes, and in general his quality of life. The facility is family owned. Everyone there has experience with and are comfortable working with larger reactive dogs. They are all gentle and welcoming. Due to his fear aggression, our dog was a bite risk, but the staff here were able to develop trust and handle him in a way no other boarding place was willing to do. The day care and boarding are large enclosures, outside, with only a few dogs each matched on temperament, so our dog actually started playing and making friends, which has never happened before. They have done so much for us and our pup, and we cannot recommend them enough!

My puppy Moutai was a stray and extremely fearful and sometimes fear aggressive. He was scared of everything, especially men and was unable to go on walks even with behavioral medication. He faced the risk of behavioral euthanasia twice as the shelters thought he was not adoptable nor curable. After two 8-week board and train at Canine college (12 months apart), he now walks with confidence and curiosity in our neighborhood. He is very well behaved on walks and we don’t have to use any special collar or forceful tools even though he is a strong 50lbs dog. As he was severely under socialized before his rescue, Canine college exposed him to a variety of trainers, dogs and even farm animals. They also did agility training with him to build confidence and let him sit in the office to be exposed to visitors. I would definitely recommend anyone with a ‘difficult’ case to choose Canine college, they have the resources, experience and time to rehabilitate dogs with severe behavioral challenges.

I picked my dog up after a 2 night stay, July 1st to July 3rd. He was picked up covered in dirt, limping and was extremely scared. I’ve never seen my dog like this. I brought him to the vet straight after and we found blood all over his paws, EACH PAW HAD BLOOD. We gave the poor thing water because he was extremely dehydrated, HE WENT THROUGH 2 GALLONS OF WATER IN ONE SITTING. I’m not done yet, about an hour later he had started throwing up constantly. This place is such a freaking disgrace, my dog hasn’t been able to sleep because he’s been whimpering in pain. If you love your dog dont ever bring them here, I’m disgusted.
