Dave Johnson has over 23 years of dog training experience. He finds giving a dog praise gives owners a stronger bond. He was a police K-9 Handler for two K-9s. Has completed K-9 school. Trained police K-9s for Gladstone, MI twice and for Alger County. In 2015, he was recognized on TV6 “UPside” for his work with the Delta Animal Shelter. Received 2020 Humanitarian of the Year award from the Delta Animal Shelter for his work assisting in the seizure and the behavioral rehabilitation of the dogs from the Rock Michigan Puppy Mill. Dave enjoys training family dogs through all stages of life and teaching their owners how to train their dogs. Dog training times and days are flexible based on clients needs. All trainings by appointment only.

I am so happy with my decision to bring my pup Willard to Dave. He was a rescue with confidence and had a hard time adjusting to his new home. This was a new experience for me and I was hesitant at first to try a trainer. I felt lost and we both had alot to learn, I knew we needed some help and Dave knew just what to do from the start. There were major improvements after just one session. The sessions are so fun for both me and my dog. After just a couple of sessions my pup has done a complete 360 and is now such a fun and happy boy. I absolutely recommend Dave and Canine Connection Training! I truly can’t thank him enough!

Dave has helped me so much with all three of my German shepherds. They have come a long way since we’ve started working with Dave. He has helped me build up their confidence and trust in us.

Best trainer I’ve ever been to. The results speak for themselves. Our crazy, unpredictable pup is like a whole new dog after just one session. I have every intention of bringing my other dogs here as well as any dogs I have in the future. If your dog is too much for you to handle and you’re considering giving up, give Dave a chance. All dogs are worth the effort.

Amazing experience! Dave is very l professional and educated on everything dogs. We have complete trust in him, would recommend to anyone. He helped us work with two very stubborn dogs and it was incredible to see their progress in such a short amount of time.
