Canine Connections Rescue and Pet Therapy

quite possibly the best dog adoption experience i've ever had we adopted Dexter in 2011 from them. we'd been visiting other places for months and never really knew if the dog we just saw would be the right fit. enter Canine Connections. we went to see a different dog, but when we met with the director, she thought Dexter might be a better fit. we met him and took him for a walk on the grounds. when we got back in, she asked if we'd like to take him home for the weekend. never before has this been offered. so of course, we took him home and fell in love. once we committed to adopting him, we were able to take him home every weekend, and bring him back on monday to continue his training. before he came home forever, we got to attend a graduation ceremony. the teen taking care of and training him got to show off what he learned. we then got to talk to him and learn even more about Dexter. the saddest part was at the end, where the kids took their dogs to the opposite end of the gym to say goodbye. i can't emphasize enough how amazing this program is. if you're looking to adopt, it's definitely worth the time to check them out.
