Canine Country

I cannot recommend David Owens highly enough. When I met David, my foster dog was struggling with serious aggression issues that were so bad we’d already scheduled a euthanasia appointment. From the very first session, David showed an incredible level of knowledge, patience, and compassion—not just for my dog, but for me as well. He took the time to truly understand the root causes of the aggression and explained everything in a clear, calm, and empowering way. The training methods were humane, effective, and tailored specifically to my dog’s needs. I never felt judged—only supported and encouraged, but he was also honest and real with me when I needed it. David didn’t just help manage a difficult situation— he saved Brownie’s life. I went on to adopt her and love her for seven incredible years before cancer took her from me. If you’re dealing with aggression or behavioral challenges or even if you just need a fantastic trainer to help your dog and you have a better life together, David is someone you can trust completely. Brownie ended up being my heart dog, and I am endlessly grateful for the lifetime he gave me with her. 🐾

I have been training with David 10+ years. My first dog was reactive. No one would work with my dog. I was always in a corner by myself. As a last resort I went to Canine Country. First class David put me in with the group. With his instruction and encouragement I was able to work with my dog in a group setting! He encouraged me to go and try competitions. We did very well! I am starting another dog with his help. Always a great experience! Can’t thank him enough for all his help!

I have been using Dave for training for many years and recently had to do “short notice” boarding at his facility due to a family emergency. And unfortunately, it was for 2 months! I have 2 dogs, an older lab mix and a little Boston Terrier who is special needs as she is blind. Both of them received exceptional care and TLC from the staff members and it showed. They weren’t stressed, they didn’t lose any weight, and they came home in the exact shape I had left them in. Which says a lot, considering they were long term boarders. Because of how long they had to board, I called many times to check on them, and was always able to reach a staff member and get an update on how they were doing. Which was very important to me to have that peace of mind. I’m a retired veterinary technician and I know the issues that can arise from less than adequate boarding facilities. And I can not say enough about how incredible and accommodating Canine Country and its staff were to my babies during a difficult time. I am grateful to you all!
