Canine Country Academy - Dog Training and Behavior Modification

Our experience with Canine Country Academy probably started over a year ago. I was looking for a training facility for my boy Yoshi, and stumbled upon their Facebook page while doing research. I was very impressed with their commitment to educating owners as well as their puppies plus an expanded list of offered classes. When they opened up their day class program, I jumped on the chance to send Yoshi. We have been very fortunate to have found Canine Country Academy. Yoshi has flourished and grown in such a positive setting. It was a huge shift for him to be away from home to a new place. Yoshi had been to groomers and overnight facilities, but he never looked comfortable or confident on his own. He was always trying to hide behind me. His first day of class, he was really nervous but the trainer Rachel really helped him open up. Eventually Mondays were not feasible for us, so he transition to Hannah's class on Tuesday, where he began to blossom into a much more confident little guy. In addition to providing basic training, they helped Yoshi feel safe with new experiences. His day classes have ranged with exposure to scent work, exercise, basic training, and anything else the trainer might think he was interested in. It's been wonderful to see Yoshi blossom at his own pace with skilled support. My husband has even complimented how much more calmer Yoshi seems with his new skill set and I've had friends compliment his manners. We obviously have our ups and downs but consistency is key. He still gets nervous, but he is able to overcome obstacles much better compared to before. What's important to remember is that this takes time. Puppies aren't trained in only a few sessions for example. The commitment to continually work with your dogs, while educating owners is apparent with this school and their trainers. I'm sure you've seen Canine Country Academy mention this, but any temperament dog can make huge progress with gentle guidance.  Don't think they are limited. Any dog can grow with plenty of tools, time, and patience. We are really grateful to have them guide Yoshi as he learns to be more confident, and we would highly recommend them to any one.
