Grateful doesn’t begin to explain how I feel. Life truly is a wild ride. What started as a simple decision to step away from racing, slow life down, and bring a dog into my world, quickly turned into an unexpected journey. That decision landed me in the ER, followed by surgery, plates, and screws. It forced me to pause in ways I never imagined. Then, out of nowhere, one of my best friends from high school reached out after more than 30 years. Karisha Anderson. On December 6, 2025, my mom and my Uncle Del drove to Canine Country Club of the South in Brooks, Georgia, to bring my dog Jesse for training. Two months later, on February 6, I traveled there myself, not just to reunite with Jesse, but to learn alongside him. The experience was more than training. It was education, structure, patience, and understanding, both for Jesse and for me. Karisha’s depth of knowledge, calm leadership, and ability to explain the “why” behind every step is remarkable. She is truly in a league of her own. My mom and I stayed in the executive suites on the farm, and the entire experience was thoughtful, peaceful, and grounding. The property itself reflects intention, care, and purpose, everything you would hope for in a place dedicated to dogs and the people who love them. I’m incredibly proud of Karisha and everything she has built at Canine Country Club of the South. Seeing her success up close was inspiring. I also want to acknowledge Leslie, who is part of the home. Her warmth and hospitality made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. She has that rare, down to earth presence that makes a place feel like home, calm, kind, and effortlessly gracious. This experience will always hold a special place in my heart. Jesse’s journey and mine, were forever changed here.
