Canine Domain

So far this place has been great for my pup to get his socialization in. I work a job with rotating shifts. Meaning sometimes I'm on day shift and sometimes I'm on graveyard. I use them when I work grave yard and my guy absolutely loves it. I do wish they would have some sort of way to tune in to ur dog 24/7. Or more picture or videos sent more frequently but I can see how that's a challenge when caring for so many dogs. They do provide videos via Instagram and are easily accessible via text or phone call. I have a working breed and he needs to run! I wish they had an area to allow outdoor play with long stretches. However, Anytime my guy realizes where we're going, he starts barking with excitement and he rushes out of my car door as soon as we arrive. He loves all the staff and is always excited to be there when he arrives. I've used them for daycare and for boarding. Great place and great pricing

I have known and personally trained dogs with the owner of this facility for over 10 years, and know she cares for the safety and trys to help every dog in her care. In response to the 1 star reviews, if a dog in boarding care gets sick it can cause a major upset to the whole facility so having a fecal exam is a great safety precaution. Cristy has spent well over $10,000 on her education and countless travel miles to work with top trainers in the industry. Canine Domain specializes in structured social day care, helping dogs who don't have proper social skills. This is why I recommended to the poster of the one star review to take her dog who has high arrousal problems and other issues here. The facility placed a bark collar on her dog without asking to use this specific tool as stated in the contract that they do use tools to disrupt not punish the dog. The poster has used a pinch and E-Collar on her dog during training and to disrupt barking in the crate. As much as there was a lack of communication between Canine Domain's staff and the poster which IS wrong, I would also have been very angry. From my understanding this has been addressed with the staff so that if a bark collar is to be used on any future dogs there is now a gate keeper to make sure that permission is given in the future. It is sad that a simple lack of communication has caused such a strong response. My feelings are that we as humans sometimes make mistakes and we need to have more empathy and forgiveness in our attitudes towards each other. I personally know this dog and she was not harmed in any way and it did not affect any ongoing training, people are always looking for someone to blame when their dogs do not progress the way they would like them to. To date this client was given a full refund and policies were changed.

I just wanted to stop by and express our deep appreciation for the facility, Cristy, and the staff at Canine Domain. We have a large, strong, and sometimes apprehensive or reactive puppy who needed somewhere structured that he can learn to socialize with other dogs in a place where his own boundaries and tendencies are respected and the other dogs are stable. Our vet recommended Canine Domain after meeting our guy. We have not been able to do anything with dog parks or other unstructured dog spaces because our pup is uncomfortable with the unrestrained and chaotic energy that we have encountered, and often insecure. The best we could do is watch from a distance so he can see that dogs sometimes run and play together without him needing to react. The staff have been so welcoming, the energy is positive and stable, and having a safe space for Smoke to grow in his engagement with other dogs and people means so much to our pack. Our partnership is new but so helpful is helping our pup gain some independence and build good habits.

After reading so many positive reviews for Canine Domain we used their boot camp service for our very excitable and reactive Goldendoodle Freddie. Both Cristy and her staff are very personable and approachable. Cristy is very supportive in stepping us through with how to help Freddie and his reactivity. She gives great direct advice that works if you put the time and effort in. Freddie is far from 'cured' but he is much improved and so are we as pup parents. As owners we really like we how we are always learning from Cristy and we trust her advice like many others that use Canine Domain services. We attend Cristy's very reasonable priced Saturday morning classes. It gives Freddie a safe space to socialize amongst his own kind and for us as owners to grow in confidence handling our big pup! We will be continuing to use the services offered at Canine Domain to help Freddie overcome his reactivity more and more!
