Canine Karma Dog Training

We cannot thank Isabela and David enough for the training that our extremely happy, yet very chaotic 9 month old yellow lab puppy Pearl so desperately needed as well as us! Pearl had already been to one board and train program and it clearly was a total failure due to only negative reinforcement, no reward system whatsoever, etc. We were at ground zero again until we met with David for a consultation in our home. Their philosophy of the science of dog-owner relationships, proper nutrition, and how they could help us with crazy, lovable, chaotic Pearl, has been an absolute game changer for all of us. Pearl spent 30 days with them, with lots of feedback along the way for us and an incredible training session at the end. We can now walk Pearl with a loose leash, which was impossible before, she is so much more attentive to us when she is supposed to be - in the house as well as outside on walks or in the yard. A neighbor just saw us walking and commented on how well behaved she was! I wanted to cry! Isabela and David will guide you with all of their incredible knowledge and love for what they do, but you must hold up your end of the bargain and commit the time and effort and all of your love for your dog to make it work. Do not go anywhere else! They are absolutely the very best.

I sent my one year old, Belgium Tervuren, pup Spock to Canine Karma's 45 day board and train because I didn't have the time or the knowledge on how to handle his seemingly endless energy and puppy stubbornness. I was super nervous to spend that kind of money and didn't know how he would be when I got him back. But I can say with 110 percent confidence that the money was so worth it. Just getting the weekly updates blew me away! To see Spock focused heeling, staying in one place for more than 30 seconds, and most shocking coming when called. When weeks before these all seemed impossible to achieve. The team was amazing with their responsive communication and answering any questions that I had about the training or even random ones about Spock's breed. You can tell how knowledgeable they are. The biggest thing for me though was how much they cared about the training they were providing and also how much they cared about Spock while he was there. I felt like Spock was part of their family. After the board and train was over they took over 3 hours to sit me down and walk me through everything they did and showed me how to do it myself. I would highly recommend this team for anyone who needs dog training. Also loved that they were a huge supporter of the military and offered a discount for active duty!!!

We contacted Dave and Isabela about our dog , Ronan. We were struggling with his human and dog aggression, resource guarding, and constant howling in his crate. These issues were starting to impact not only his quality of life, but ours as well. We were constantly stressed with trying to navigate his behavioral issues, which only seemed to be escalating. After a consultation with Dave, we decided to do a 45 day board and train. We were hesitant about a board and train due to a prior experience Ronan had, which left him traumatized. When we met Dave for the initial consult, we could tell that they would take amazing care of Ronan, and that was further solidified with the drop-off and introduction with Isabela. It was clear that they were passionate about training and would treat Ronan like he was one of their own dogs. During the course of his training we were kept up to date throughout the entire timeframe via videos, photos, and texts. Dave, Isabela, and Tammy answered all of our many questions. When we picked Ronan up from his board and train, Isabela and Tammy thoroughly explained the reasoning behind Ronan’s behavior and what we needed to do to continue being consistent with his training. The root of our issues with Ronan was the relationship we had with him. He believed it was his job to handle everything, which caused him to be stressed and aggressive. Now his mindset has changed, and he has learned that we are able to handle things and keep him safe, not the other way around. The training we have done has not only improved his behavior, it has also improved our relationship by bringing structure and order. We cannot thank Canine Karma enough for all they have done, and all they continue to do to support us.
