Canine Obedience Training at Hunt Club

Dory Hofmann has been an invaluable resource and help to me with my rescue dog. Harper had a challenging past, first as a stray and then in the animal shelter for many months before coming home with me. I needed help controlling her anxious behavior around strangers and other animals. Dory worked with me weekly in private sessions, training both me and Harper and teaching us both proper handling skills and methods that really work. Before I called Dory, I couldn’t manage my 59-lb dog out on walks in my neighborhood. Now I can enjoy long walks with Harper! Occasionally she still reacts to other dogs, but I know how to keep her under control and well-behaved. Dory also helped me get Harper used to having other dogs nearby, and we have just started attending regular obedience classes. This is something I never would have thought possible when I adopted her. The shelter had labelled this dog as “not good with other animals or children,” and with Dory’s help, Harper can be successful around other people and other dogs! Dory is a great teacher and trainer. She customizes her lessons to address my specific issues and she has years of experience and expertise with all kinds of dogs and situations. Her methods make sense and are always based on positive rewards, never on aversive techniques that use pain or hurt the dog. Dory’s prices, for private sessions as well as general classes are very reasonable and well worth the investment. I would highly recommend Dory for any owner needing help with a dog’s behavior, or anyone wanting to work on general dog obedience or training.

I can't say enough positive things about Dory and her ability to teach me how to train my dog. I have a 4 month old Mal with energy to spare and a 6 year old English bulldog who was less then excited when we brought said puppy home. After just 5 weeks of puppy school with Dory they have become buddies . Today they were just laying next to each other chewing their bones happy as can be. I honestly never thought this would be possible!! I highly recommend enrolling in 1 of Dory's training classes it allows to bond and train your dog with less stress!!!!
