Canine Perspective: Structured Daycare, Boarding & Training

Our dog Arlo has been going to Canine Perspective since he was 4 months old (he’s now 8 months). We started off with their 10-day Puppy Head Start program, which helped Arlo with his crate and potty training, and transitioned to regular Daycare as he grew older. Arlo was quite shy and scared of new environments as a young puppy. The structured environment at Canine Perspective really helped increase his confidence, and he now loves to play with dogs at Daycare and at dog parks. I am amazed at how Canine Perspective manages to keep all their dogs quiet all the time. I never hear barking in their videos or when I dropoff/pickup. They also do not have a spay/neuter requirement, which I really appreciate as so many other daycare places will either limit to Solo-play or refuse unaltered dogs after they are 6-8 months old. Most important of all, Arlo has a great time. He’s always wagging his tail every time I drop him off, and comes home satisfied but not exhausted or overstimulated. Each dog is different and may have different needs, but I have full confidence that Canine Perspective is the best doggie daycare for Arlo.

I walk the pitbull Sammy and have had no issues with him no issues with other dogs or people. I also do not understand how a professional boarding center- Canine Perspective could have this dog muzzled for 5 days claiming he is too dangerous for their handlers to remove a muzzle at night while he is sleeping alone in his crate. There is also no excuse for them to not notice while under their watch that the dog has injury due to his muzzle being left on for consecutive days. I do not recommend this place.

We came here not too long ago and my friends dog got mistreated. You shouldn't leave a muzzle on at night on any dog unsupervised, if you don't have trained staff to remove it-at that point don't take the client on. Any dog could get injured - which is what happened to that dog. Canine Perspective should have just told the dog's owner from the very beginning that they're not equipped to handle the dog, not kept the dog on for almost a year and then complain that it's too aggressive. This is not the way to treat any animal.

This review is long overdue. My dog Dante--who is completely BLIND--has been going to Canine Perspective for almost a year now. We started with 1:1 training with Jesse (primarily for high leash reactivity), and have since gone to Canine Perspective for both boarding and daycare. I have nothing but positive comments for the staff there. The staff provides the proper support, rules, and STRUCTURE that Dante needs to feel safe and secure. I trust the staff and their judgment completely. While I wasn't looking for some lovey-dovey training & boarding center, I know that Canine Perspective truly cares about Dante because they provide him with what HE needs.

Our silver lab girl has grown up at Canine Perspective and we get compliments on her behavior from complete strangers all the time. We are lucky - she came to us with a sweet temperament from a great breeder. But CP has made sure we knew how to help her stay that way. As a dilute lab, she is prone to skin issues and her training collar gives her irritation now and then. We always find Jesse, Elizabeth, and the staff to be 100% our partners in alerting each another, figuring out a workaround, and keeping an eye on her until things are back to normal. I'm always impressed that with the number of dogs they handle, they always know what's up with our girl. We recommend Canine Perspective to anyone who asks!
