What’s the best way to house train your puppy?

House training is all about structure, supervision, and schedule. We want to create a schedule that helps build a routine and ritual for good potty habits where the puppy is going to reliably potty outside. At first this schedule will be more stringent then will relax overtime as the puppy becomes more reliable with the house training.
We want to supervise the puppy at all times when inside so that we can redirect them outside anytime we determine that they may need to go potty.
A structure will need to built for the puppy to manage their time and activities properly to build good house training behaviors. Some of this would include using a kennel with a divider that expands over time, using a leash to handle the puppy, walking the puppy for about 10 minutes after mealtime to work their body and digestion, building a ritual of going potty before and after any major events.

Could Ijust leave my two dogs for a week of boarding nd trining?
Most of our training programs are 3 + weeks in length. Two week (or less) training programs should generally be a red flag because they will typically administer less than ideal training methods to the dog. A 3 week program should be the minimum amount of time for a board & train program because it takes a minimum of 3-weeks to pattern a new behavior. Longer programs may be ideal due to the fact that they can solidify behavior more and establish more repetitions of the desired behavior. Our experience with Canine Revolution has been nothing short of amazing. We sent our 7 year old staffy for training to address mostly house manners and for future peace of mind. Kona returned nearly a new dog, in the best ways. The whole process from start to finish is easy and seamless. Danny and team are wonderful at communicating and explaining expectations and direction for the return home. Follow up sessions have been detailed and a clear priority of this team of trainers also. The post training option to board and return for continued education is a bonus. Can’t recommend enough!

Chris and Jacy have done a wonderful job training my sweet timid year old Sheppard mix, Marlin. Best of all, they have taught me how to reinforce the skills he has learned as well as techniques to continue building his confidence. We had our furst born, 2yr old Finley, who is an 80lb female black lab go through the advanced 4 week program here. I don’t know if we could have been more impressed with Jacy, Chad and the entire CR staff and operation. So professional, so caring and so great at what they do. We were very nervous to send Finley off on her own for 4 weeks but they were so helpful and communicative throughout the entire process. Whether it was over text, email or weekly video updates… all helped us as nervous parents really feel she was safe, secure and in very good hands. They also are exceptional at coaching the owners so they understand the process, goals and doggie language so they can successfully carry the torch accordingly once home. And now when they come for follow ups, Finley is so excited to see them. We are doing great and settling into the new life routine. Thank you again Jacy, Chad and the whole CR team!

Our experience with Canine Revolution has been outstanding. We felt that our new puppy was in very capable and safe hands. The Tuesday and Friday video updates were wonderful and helped with the separation anxiety we had. Lola came back to us with a deep understanding of obedience commands. The follow up training was exceptional - especially for us. We highly recommend Canine Revolution. We can take our dog anywhere as the foundation is well laid. Lastly, Jacy -our trainer - was phenomenal and responsive to our needs. As an example, she always provided an estimated arrival time when heading to our home.
