Does my male white golden retriever need to be neutered in order to pass the Canine therapy corp test and do volunteer work?
Thank you for your inquiry. No. CTCorps does not currently require its therapy animals to be altered.

What type of training does the dog have to have to participate?
Enough training where a dog can pass every part of the test. The dog must score a 100% to pass the test.

We took the Foundations course with our 7-month old puppy and it was great! Margaret was a phenomenal instructor (very good with the dogs and people). The class only had 5 dogs, so there was plenty of space to work.
Canine Therapy Corps is a fantastic organization! Not only do they do great work in hospitals and for training, but they partner with organizations to bring therapy dogs for community events - allowing people to experience the healing benefits of dogs!
Everyone is SO great to work with! The Executive Director has a clear concise vision, overall a great organization to work with! Highly recommmend!!!

Canine Therapy Corps is such a great organization! I started bringing my dog Taro to their training classes starting at 5 months old with the goal of becoming a certified therapy dog team. Through the support of many amazing trainers at CTC, Taro successfully passed the exam in August. Since then, we've already been having a great experience volunteering. Everyone who works there is so passionate about CTC's mission. And CTC even gives back to the local community through events like the free vaccination clinic they hosted a bit ago. Canine Therapy Corps is an awesome place to get involved in!
