Canine Training Camp

Brandon with Canine Training Camp is one of the best dog trainers I've ever seen/hired. We've tried everything under the sun to get our little dog to listen, stop peeing inside, etc. Working with Brandon for only a month this little dog of 10 years is making huge strides and completely fixing some of the issues we had. We just didn't know how to train her properly and Brandon was able to turn things around quickly. Hands down the best dog trainer in the Fox Valley/Appleton area. This trainer can help you with basic commands such as sit, stay, down (so can youtube). HE IS NOT A CERTFIED TRAINER OR BEHAVIORALIST. If you go to his website under frequently asked questions, he avoids listing and credentials because he has 0. Our issues came in when our dog needed special training due to her separation anxiety when alone or in her crate. This "trainer" told us he could help us and then 3 months went by and there was very little communication about when he could take our dog. He came over to our house and showed us his technique of how he trains a dog in the kennel. We believe his method actually made our dog more fearful of her cage. His method was to keep her in her kennel for 22 hours out of the day. She can come out for food, water, potty, and a bit of play, that is it. Before she would lay down in it with the door open, now she refuses to go near it. After this we decided she might learn better with him cause it might be a human error. We were told multiple times that he would take our dog to his house and train her, we just had to wait until a spot was open for her. When a spot did open (a month later) he said he would call me to get the logistics. He never called me and it is now 3 weeks later. We are now going to a separation specialist in Milwaukee. I would not suggest him for anything because yes he might be able to teach you basic dog tricks, he cannot help with behavioral treatment.

I've honestly shopped around and tried big box store classes and some private ones that helped but it just didn't have thee effectiveness I was searching for. So I called this place and spoke with Brandon the owner and I was very pleased with how he truly wanted to help. He was genuine and I actually tried the crate training tricks we were discussing while he was on the phone and it blew MY MIND!! It's unbelievable the things I had no idea I was reinforcing for the dog. The amount of attention and voice reflection/excitement/praise I was giving the dog the second he got out of the crate WAS the issue. Instead, going in the crate should have been the big celebration and coming out is supposed to natural. By the end of that night, I literally could open the door and he would just lay in there and play or fully focused on me patiently waiting for my command. Without telling the back story of the nightmare we had with dog, it was an insane transformation! I highly recommend him and just that phone call alone was worth the money spent on the class. As far as the class goes, I'm beyond happy with the results, I honestly could right a book on the results we've already experienced but this review is lengthy as it is. So, there it folks, I highly recommend this company and that's my honestly how I feel.
