FirstBarkMarty and his staff are very knowledgable and have been amazing to work with! Mali has become such an awesome dog with the professional training he.... and I received. We did the 6 month board and train program and are continuing with the protection training. Best money spent. We will continue to attend trainings. Thank you.

Does this facility have live camera feeds of the boarding kennels? I haven't found a facility down here professional enough to let customers see "behind the scenes".
Thanks for your input. I don't know you, and I don't know the kennel owners. That's why I was hoping to find a company down here that's confident enough in their operation to allow for some transparency.

Not sure if the lack of live streaming qualifies the lack of professionalism, but what a great feature that would be. The staff will show you behind the scenes there. We have been a client of CIA for almost 7 years. The main reason we continue is my dogs reaction at pick up has not changed. She will run up to greet me and then wants to go back. We do miss the Snapchat during K9 fit. If y'all are looking for a boarding facility I suggest to visit, have them perform a temperament test and allow your dog a day of K9 fit before and see it's demeanor at pick up

Could you tell me a bit more if I were to pick the option, board & training? Does that mean my puppy will stay over there for a certain amount of time?
Yes, your dog stays there for 4 weeks. When you pick him up, you get a lesson with your dog where you learn what your dog had been working on and how to do the techniques properly. This is also followed by 3 months of Saturday group classes where you improve your handler skills and continue your dog's training. It is an excellent program! I did it with my German Shepherd and highly recommend it!

A structured dog is a happy dog!!! Despite my best efforts as a new dog owner, I was completely oblivious to the “training” I thought I was giving my dog. For months I wondered why my efforts weren’t showing in my pups behavior. It wasn’t until I happened to stop at Canines In Action Academy to purchase a new prong collar that (with Marty’s help) made me realize I wasn’t effectively communicating with my dog. What stood out to me at first was the day I went to purchase a prong collar. Marty noticed the distress my dog was in just being In a different environment. For at least an hour he listened to me vent and explain all the things I found wrong or concerning with my dog and to my surprise, actually gave me solutions and advice. He and his team are all very experienced and knowledgeable dog trainers. So for him to take the time out of his day to explain advice (that I didn’t pay for) told me a lot about his facility. They truly care for the animals, even if it means having to educate us owners many times. Which BTW they even offer free assessments on your dogs!! What I loved was that the solutions given to me were not only “board your dog he NEEDS training”. They offered group classes and private lessons. It took only a couple of private lessons for me to effectively communicate with my dog. And I can tell you that my Doberman is 100x happier and stress free from it. For someone who doesn’t have the time to effectively set that foundation they offer an amazing board and train program. If I hadn’t been able to set the foundation on my own I would have totally boarded my dog. Again, they truly care and that’s why I continue taking my boy Kane. Now we are working on his protection skills on the Bite Night Tuesdays this facility offers. Along with other amazing programs like their canine fit program which is like a super awesome structured dog care. They do agility, treadmill, dock diving, and proper socialization between the animals. Anyway, I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to learn from such an amazing trainer. Kane and I are 1,000 times better for it. My now structured dog really is so much happier for it and that makes this dog momma so stinking proud. Thank you doesn’t even come close to my appreciation and respect for Marty and his amazing team!!!
My dog has been going to Canines in Action since she was a puppy. She loves the trainers, K9 Fit doggie daycare, and especially the pool. She’s also so well behaved after doing the board and train program. Couldn’t recommend them more.

Our German Shepherd is so much better behaved thanks to the trainers educating us over just a few sessions. It's up to you and your level of commitment to change that determines the outcome. Many opportunities and programs for your dog to have fun and learn something new!
