I’ve had an absolutely incredible experience with CANIS. My 7 month Goldendoodle completed a 6-week board-and- train program focused on obedience and severe separation anxiety, and the transformation has been life-changing for both of us. He also attends their daycare and absolutely loves it!! Jamie, our trainer, is truly the best thing that could have happened to us. Her knowledge, patience, and genuine care for my puppy were evident from day one. She truly understands him—his personality, his anxiety, and exactly what he needed to succeed. The progress in his obedience, confidence, and ability to handle separation has gone far beyond what I ever expected. I cannot recommend this facility or Jamie enough. This place is worth every second and every dollar. I’m especially grateful for the continued support through both group and individual sessions after completing the board-and-train program. Knowing we can keep building on everything he’s learned makes all the difference. If you’re considering training for your fur baby, this is hands down the best decision you can make.

My three year old pit mix, Oakley, just graduated from his six-week board and train with Kaitlyn. It was a great experience all around. Brent and the whole team were great. Always friendly and super helpful. Kaitlyn sent weekly photos, videos, and report cards, which made it really easy to see Oakley’s progress and feel confident he was in great hands. You can tell they genuinely care about the dogs and take their work seriously. What I loved most was how real-life the training was. Oakley wasn’t just learning commands in a quiet room, he was out at dog parks, coffee shops, and riding in the car practicing calm behavior in the real world. Kaitlyn also really focused on Oakley’s specific needs for issues we had been dealing with. He came home more confident, more relaxed, and way more responsive. The fact that you get unlimited private sessions is huge too to continue the training. Overall, I’m super happy with the experience and incredibly grateful to Kaitlyn(she is awesome). If you’re thinking about training your dog, I’d absolutely recommend them.

Canis has completely changed our life! It is a community of devoted, passionate and disciplined individuals who want to see our fur babies succeed in the home and in life. When we first got our rescue dog, Kaia, she was very fearful of everything and everyone. She had bad separation anxiety and zero obedience training. We were feeling helpless until we discovered Canis. Canis has done a 360 on our Kaia. She now prances around confidently and has been declared an A student. And we couldn't be more proud! For Kaia's board and train, she was assigned to her trainer, Jen. We couldn’t imagine someone better to have bonded and taken care of Kaia! Jen’s discipline, patience and care for Kaia has reassured us that she was the perfect match. She has also motivated us to stay confident in continuing the training at home and in public all the while seeing REAL results. Kaia loves seeing Jen, who still always makes an effort to check in on Kaia when she is at Canis for day club, boarding and continued training sessions. That just goes to show the dedication she brings into the professional space at Canis. Canis truly is dedicated to educating both owner and pet. All the trainers are friendly and knowledgable and the facility is always clean! We highly recommend Jen, Brent and the entire Canis team!

I had such a great experience with CANIS Dog Behavior and our trainer, Jen!!! She was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive with my dog, Stef. You could immediately tell she genuinely cared about Stef’s well-being and comfort, not just getting through a session. Jen took the time to understand Stef as an individual and made everything feel calm, supportive, and judgment-free. It never felt rushed or transactional; it felt like someone who truly loves dogs and wants to see them succeed. What I appreciate most is the sense of community CANIS creates. It’s clear they’re invested in helping dogs and their owners in meaningful ways, and I’ve personally seen how they go above and beyond to support people when they can. I’m really grateful for the experience and would absolutely recommend CANIS and Jen to anyone looking for thoughtful, compassionate, and effective dog behavior support.

My partner and I boarded our dogs at this facility as part of a planned transition to move in together, with the goal of helping our dogs get acclimated to one another in a structured and supportive environment. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply concerning. From the start, the facility lacked transparency. They advertise providing weekly “report cards,” but these updates were extremely vague and generic, offering only selective snippets of information with no meaningful insight into our dogs’ daily care, behavior, health, or actual training progress. We dropped our dogs off healthy and in great condition. When we picked them up, the situation was completely different. One dog returned with a neck strain injury, ear infections, and a UTI. The other dog contracted an upper respiratory infection. We immediately noticed issues at pickup. Despite the expectation of training, our dogs did not receive any distinguishable training beyond being crated in the same room. Following their return, we spent over three weeks dealing with veterinary exams, treatments, and recovery. When we contacted the facility to ask when symptoms were first noticed and what care was provided, they were unable to give any clear answers. There was no ownership or accountability only vague apologies and questions about what we expected from them, rather than transparency or concern for the dogs’ wellbeing. As it stands, we are pursuing an investigation through the appropriate channels. This should stop with us. No other dogs should experience preventable injuries, illness, or inadequate care due to lack of oversight and communication. I’m writing this review to warn prospective pet owners and strongly encourage due diligence for the sake of your pet. There are many reputable facilities that offer full transparency, clear communication, and even live video access so owners can understand their dogs’ experience while boarded or in training.
