Update of my Dog: My dog has been in training for a year with a different trainer and is doing fabulous with reactivity, I know now that he simply is a reactive dog versus an aggressive behavior. With the training I recieved from Mat at sit means sit my dog is beyond better - night and day difference. I still remember my conversation with Carol and how she told me my dog was hopeless, but want others to know you can have a happy ending by finding a trainer who cares and wants to help. Im glad I had people in my corner who told me not to listen to 1 persons opinion and I hope my review gives others hope too. Last year[2025]:I did not use Carol's training, but I felt I needed to share my story based on the conversation she and I had in case there was anyone else looking for help training their dog and received similar feedback. I was referred to Carol's by my vet and decided to reach out along with 4 other trainers when my newest dog got into a tussle with our oldest dog, and we started to see him growling more. My husband and I were looking for help with him as we didn't want the aggressive behavior to escalate into something worse between them or otherwise. Backstory of our newest: He is an 85lbs dog, came from a shelter that sadly does kill dogs and he was on that list because he was timid, scared, and wouldn't let anyone touch him. My husband and I decided to adopt him to save his life. Speaking with Carol: I sent in my application to get my dog trained and was extremely upfront on where he was in his training. Carol called me shortly after. I was excited to hear from her so quickly, but then the conversation turned, and I was quickly disappointed and heartbroken. I told her upfront that our dogs were on shock collars, but we only had them for the tone. She said it didn't matter and they were the same thing and terrible. She told me that "due to my dogs age, dogs breed, genetics, and that we had him on an e-collar that we had ruined our dog and there was no hope for him." She emailed me articles to read and told me 3 times during our conversation that she was simply trying to help me and wasn't charging me for these pieces of information, but she would not be taking my case and only 1 person in the state could actually help our dog. When we got off the phone, I immediately called my husband (in tears) and told him this conversation, which upset me so much because I was looking to help our dog and this lady told me there was none. My husband calmed me down as it was simply 1 opinion of a lady who hadn't even met our dog yet. My husband told some of his coworkers and found out that his coworker had the same conversation with Carol when she reached out about her 2 year old dog and was told the same thing as me. Her dog is no longer aggressive because she got her dog training from another dog trainer and is doing great today. Aftermath: I was contacted by the other trainers I had reached out too and I told them the same things I told Carol. I also told them what she told me, and all of them disagreed and told me my dog was not helpless and had helped families in worse situations than I had going on.

Let's just be real clear: Carol knows dogs. She knows their behaviour, their signals, their emotions, their communication. We took her 6-week course with our new 15-mo rescue pup and it was great. It's a small group, with sectioned off areas to help with the dog's individual learning. Carol showed time and time again her knowledge and her patience. Her style isn't to force any approach on to you and leaves room for you to make the best decisions for you, your dog, and your home. I completely recommend her courses.
