Carpe Diem Dog Training

I enjoyed working with Leza and will continue classes. I’m a pet dog trainer wanting to expand my knowledge and get into dog sports. We did a 5 week class to train and test for the Canine Good Citzen Advanced as we already had CGC and CGC Urban. Leza has amazing energy and was great at communicating prior to class, demonstrating the skills worked on and providing feedback to students and their dogs. She was very encouraging and was great at keeping you motivated when dogs/handlers had struggles. She was well prepared with lesson plans and locations to ensure we were prepped for the assessment the last week. It would be impossible for her to take her years of experience and be able to fully transfer those skills into us with a short amount of time. I’m definitely interested in exploring a little bit more how to fade out an instant reward system. My dog is very treat motivated, and can be fussy doing obedience if she does not see a treat being presented immediately. We did cover a lot in the class and she made it very important for us to get as much practice as possible doing the specific skills needed to pass the assessment. I would like information about more exercises and breaking down the skills into smaller components for better practice at home. You can definitely tell that she does truly care about the success of the handlers and dogs. After the assessment, she had a small gift for all of the handlers and Dogs that was unique to them. We always joked that my dog is a little dire wolf, and she was super excited for the handpicked treat mix that Leza created for us. Definitely had a five star experience and looking forward to continuing learning and working with her.

I took a class with Liza for CGCU/A and it was easily one of the best group class experiences I’ve had! She sets everyone and their dogs up for success, brought us to many interesting places, and provided all the information one could ask for and could easily answer any question. I definitely recommend Liza (and especially Tori her Amstaff) for your dog training needs. They both bring awesome energy to every class and I looked forward to going every week and will definitely go back to her in the future!
