Cascadia Canine Training School

Bryan has given us and our dog, Liala, a whole new life with each other. Liala is an almost 2 year old, 115 pound, St Bernard who was super sweet at home with us but became uncontrollable on walks and when people showed up at our house. The training we have done with Brian is truly priceless. We started lessons about 6 weeks ago and just this past weekend we successfully walked Liala on a busy trail near the Old Mill District full of people and other dogs. She listens so well now and has been so receptive to the training. It so neat to see the change. Liala is so much happier and so are we. Thank you Bryan!

I highly recommend Cascadia Canine Training without any reservation. Brian is the BEST dog trainer! I'd give 10 stars if I could. We have the perfect dog. We really do. We adopted Emmett a little over 3 years ago, and we started to experience different challenges with him. Some were getting dangerous. The first one being that he forged while walking on a leash. I've trained many horses that weren't as strong as Emmett. My right shoulder started taking a beating from the constant forging and pulling. I simply could not hold Emmet back. I spoke to dog experts, other trainers, tried various collars, harnesses, gentle leads, and nothing worked. The forging started to get worse, and Emmett started to lunge toward dogs he didn't like, dragging me halfway across the street to get to them. He became more aggressive, started marking more on our walks and runs, and the dog park was out of the question. He also started going "junkyard dog" when someone walked by our fence and at other dogs. Neighbors complained It was no fun walking Emmett. He simply would not listen. My right shoulder continued to get worse. Finally, after interviewing various "dog experts," I was referred to Brian Castleberry of Cascadia Canine Training. He was excellent. Brian conducted himself professionally over email, and we went for our first lesson. I watched enough of Cesar Milan on TV and read his books to know that half the battle (or more) is usually the owner (me). I needed to be educated. Brian was a gift to my husband and me and definitely our dog, Emmet. I totally identified with what he explained to me and why Emmett has exhibited the behavior of forging, marking, aggressiveness, and simply not listening. Brian explained it in words my husband and I understood. Emmett was acting as the CEO of the family, and "I" was the one that needed to be the CEO, not Emmett! After ONE CLASS, we had a very different and happy dog! We got the proper collar and lead from Brain, and our life literally changed overnight! That evening we walked a very well-behaved and HAPPY dog! Emmett was happy, and Anthony and I were enjoying our walks once again. We enjoyed the class so much that we decided to continue our training and Emmett's education with Brian. We signed up for 6 classes. Today, Emmett graduated with flying colors! Sit, sit-stay, down-stay (4 minutes), come, heel and Brian brought in another dog, and Emmett was outstanding! No fighting. We are now moving to off-leash training, and we can't wait! If you love your dog and want to be educated by a very skilled, bright, and gentle trainer, Brian is your guy. Everything thing Brian taught us was very gentle and compassionate. Our dog Emmett cannot wait to get out of the car and run to see Brian. It's as if he is thanking Brian for educating US! We have a much happier and loving dog who is enjoying life, thanks to Brian's many years of training dogs. Brian truly gets them!

In 2007 they would take my older Aussie on pack walks and give me advice on training. The results were outstanding. In 2020 when I fostered a puppy I knew just who to call. A safe environment with a fully trained staff. Their K9 school is were I felt the most confident and so do my dogs. Happy, confident dogs. With training available along with their day care most any issue can be addressed. The one on one training gives you individual attention to work through your dog’s needs. I know of multiple dogs in the Bend community that Cascadia K9 have worked wonders with. It’s been an outstanding experience.
