Hi, Penny here. As a young dog my only purpose was to have puppies. When I turned 4 or 5 I was abandoned. I ended up at dog rescue where my family found and adopted me. My family wanted to give me a new start. Knowing my history, they weren’t sure of my temperament, and brought me Casper Dog Training for an assessment. When I met Mr. Adam, I was nervous and confused. I took a stance and barked to keep him away, but also wagged my tail. Mr. Adam assured me I was OK. He told my family because of my former lifestyle, I wasn’t very confident. My parents told Mr. Adam, I was very curious about common things other dogs take for granted, but scared of these things. We started doing exercises like “place” and “touch” and gave me treats when I completed the task. We soon became good friends. With visits to Casper Dog Training and practice at home, my confidence grew. I learned that a crate and raised bed aren’t scary. They’re safe and comfy. I’m feeling more comfortable in my new home. I’m working on socialization skills by meeting people in my neighborhood. I really love my new life, thanks Mr. Adam!
