Cave Creek K9 Training

Rodd is a personable and excellent trainer. My Lilly was out of control. She barked at everything and lunged at people and pets. She tore my skin and was so hard to walk on a leash. Rodd agreed to take her on slightly before I was going to have her put down. Three weeks and she returned a different dog. She obeys command, is clearly less nervous, more calm and happy. Rodd came and made sure our earlier instructions were being followed and offered advice on a couple of issues I hadn’t shared with him before. I have to say, Rodd not only changed Lily’s life, he changed mine. He is the best.

My large dog, Baxter ( Great Dane/ German Shepard mix) lacked confidence and needed socializing . My husband and I were going out of the country and I saw an opportunity to place Baxter with a trainer to work on these things while we were gone. Much to my relief, Baxter was immediately at ease with Rodd. Not only did Rodd get Baxter out and around people but he added to the training we had already in place. Baxter responds very well to commands and I confidently have him off leash on a regular basis.

We have a 10 year old golden retriever named Murphy and an 11 month old named Cody. Murphy is a very tough act to follow. Cody was very difficult to walk with Murphy and we had no confidence that if he were to be distracted by a javelina or coyote that he would come back. After 5 sessions with Rodd, we are very pleased with Cody’s progress. He is walking very well without pulling on the leash. We also trained him using an electronic collar to teach him recall. Rodd’s approach is very easy and reasonable. The proof is in Cody’s behavior which is much improved.

From the very beginning when I first contacted Rodd about getting my German Shepherd signed up for his 3 week board and train program there was very clear communication about what the program was and how he believed it would help my pup. When I picked Bohdi up we had a 30 minute- 1 hour training session where I was shown what he had learned and how to work with him once he got home. After working with Rodd my dog had a much better brain and seemed to have the tools he needed to continue his training and improving his behavior. During his stay with Rodd I was sent photos and updates whenever I asked, and there was always great communication about how he was doing. Thank you Rodd!
