Centurion Canine

We adopted our dog (Cavapoo), Maverick, a little over a year ago (he is 4 years old now). When we brought him home he basically didn’t know how to “dog”. He refused to hold his bodily functions while my husband and I were at work and would hide in another room to relieve himself. Mav was extremely reactive; barking at everything and everyone that passed our house. We couldn’t take Mav into the pet store because each time he saw another dog he would bark, whine, and pull/jump to the end of his leash to get to said dog(s). Mav wasn’t able to be taken to a normal groomer due to him biting/nipping at the groomers because he had so much anxiety so we had to take him to a veterinarian to get groomed and was given calming medication as needed during his appointment. Mav had poor impulse control; tearing up 3 sets of blinds and 1 set of curtains when he would see people/animals/cars pass our house. My husband and I were so exhausted and frustrated we weren’t sure how to help Mavy. We knew that rehoming was not an option and we’ve been working on trying to train Mav for a year and he wasn’t having any improvements. So we decided to look into training for Mavy. We live in Erie PA and we looked into training for Mav that was local. There were day programs available, in-home training, and board and train options. But they either didn’t work with my husband’s and my schedule and/or was WAY too expensive. We were feeling defeated and as if there was no hope in finding a good training program for Mav that we could afford (we just bought a house before we began looking into training for Mav). We did some more research and we came across Centurion Canine. We were unsure about choosing centurion at first because it’s a 2.5hrs drive from our home, but we had the consultation call and I essentially was sold. My husband and I went to our free evaluation and consultation session with David (the owner) and that sold my husband on Centurion as well. David was so thorough with explaining the processes, the different programs available for Mav’s training, and discussed all of the different financing options available. We signed up for Mav to do their 6-week board and train program on the spot. Not having Mav for those 6 weeks were hard for my husband and I, but Centurion posts weekly videos of the dogs their training, the progress the dogs have made, and more. Mav’s trainer also called us weekly to provide us with updates on Mav’s training progression. All of this made it just a little easier not having Mav home for so long. The time finally came for us to pick up Mav! We drove 2.5hrs there and back (5hr travel time in total). We were informed of all of the tools used in Mav’s training, the processes, and answered all of the questions we had. When we saw Mav for the first time, it was like I was meeting a brand new dog! All of the issues I explained that Mav had were gone! We’ve had him home for a short while now, but our lives are SIGNIFICANTLY better now that Maverick’s behavior(s) are under control. I would 100% recommend Centurion Canine to each and every person looking to get their dogs trained. I cannot express how happy I am with this night and day transformation. I am forever grateful for Centurion Canine and everyone that helped us with our Mav. Thank you so so so so much!

We took our dog Maverick (4-year-old Cavapoo) to Centurion Canine and absolutely LOVED it! We were having issues with potty training, reactivity, and overall obedience. We are from Erie, PA and looked all around but couldn’t find anywhere that would train him for a reasonable price. We scheduled a consultation with Centurion and when we arrived, everyone was so nice. The owner David sat with us and suggested the training we should complete for Maverick. Since we are 2 1/2 hours away, we completed the 6-week boarding and they taught him so well. We got weekly calls from his trainer for updates and to address any concerns we had. When we picked him up, the co-owner Victoria went over and showed us all of the commands they taught him, along with going over his schedule and other things. Maverick is a changed dog. He is so much more well mannered and listens to his commands. We couldn’t have asked for a better dog trainer.

I can't say enough great things about Centurion Canine! We enrolled our 1 yr old German Shepherd, Jax, in their 6 week day-train program, and the transformation has been incredible. Not only is he better behaved and more confident, but we also learned so much about how to communicate with him and also be more confident! Everyone there is so kind, patient, and understanding. You can tell they genuinely care about every dog AND their owners. Victoria and David have built an incredible program, and their passion for what they do really shows. A special thank you to our trainer, Mariah! She is extremely knowledgeable, well-rounded, and took the time to explain everything in a way that made us feel confident. She was always encouraging, answered all of our questions, and truly cared about Jax's success. If you're looking for trainers who will not only transform your dog but also teach you how to be a better handler, I highly recommend Centurion Canine. It was one of the best investments we've ever made for Jax, and we're so grateful for the entire team!
