I bought my first malinois from Chalands in 2019. After that Angela mentored me in training and as I began to look toward building my own breeding program. We have remained in contact over the years and I now own 3 dogs from Chalands and co-own one with her. She is always prompt and helpful with support when I have questions and even boards my dogs when we travel. I have never worked with a more diligent breeder and am incredibly grateful for her support and expertise!

If you’re looking for a Belgian Malinois, Chaland is the way to go!!! As a dog enthusiast that has dreamed of owning a Belgian malinois for years I was a bit nervous on what I would be getting myself into. I asked for recommendations and researched many breeders and ended up choosing Chaland to get my malinois from and it was the best decision I have EVER made! Prior to getting my girl, Vedka, from Chaland, I had been in contact with Angela and expressed to her what temperament I was looking for and that this would be my first time owning a malinois. She was very understanding, communicative, and offered a mentorship for whatever questions or concerns that I had. She also expressed that if I had any problems at all that she would take the dog back at any point in their life. She also explained that all of her dogs/puppies are health tested, socialized daily, given vaccinations, and microchipped before you get them and she is very involved with the puppies from birth to pick up so she is able to chose a specific puppy for what you’re looking for, which is exactly what she did for me! After explaining what I was looking for she had paired me with one of her females and I believe that she paired me with the PERFECT one for my lifestyle. Vedka has been absolutely amazing since the day I brought her home. She has the BEST temperament, loves absolutely everybody, is very eager to learn, has an amazing food drive and an even better off switch. On top of that her intelligence continues to amaze me every day. Before getting my girl from Chaland I was the type of person who had a list of dog breeds that I would eventually like to own, since getting Vedka from Chaland I am now a Belgian Malinois junkie and when I’m ready for another years from now I will 100% getting it from Chaland! Also, Chaland is located in Missouri and I live in Pennsylvania! I drove 14 hours for my girl and would do it a thousand times over if I had to, which says a lot about how pleased and in love I am with my Chaland puppy! Oh and on top of Vedka’s amazing personality look how beautiful she is also! 🥰

Go to just about any social media group or blog on the breed and you’ll find a high percentage of people highlighting the intelligence and intensity of this breed and reiterating that this breed is NOT for everybody-- that they require (at minimum) consistent training from people who know the breed and what they’re doing and are not for beginners. Knowing this (and after having owned, trained & handled high energy hunting bird dogs for over 22 years), I researched the breed and attended working dog training sessions for three years before committing to getting one for myself. Chaland’s matched me with exactly what I was looking for in a dog from the time I first decided to go for it. I now have two Chaland’s (from “K” Litter and “R” Litter). Both dogs have earned a combined 87 titles over the past 5 years in multiple sports ranging from AKC Scent Work, NACSW & UKC Nosework, Obedience, Dock Diving, Canine Good Citizen, Trick Dog, and Virtual Home Manners. This despite my husband and I both working demanding full-time jobs. We have competed in various venues across multiple states with multiple organizations, and I consistently receive compliments on their balanced behavior, performance, and ability to interact well with other animals and people of all kinds. I have added peace of mind that Chaland’s does all the necessary health testing of every potential breeding and goes the extra mile before puppies are even born, then continues that level of dedication and care from the moment the puppies are born and throughout their lifetime. It’s just a bonus for me that they also look good.
