Citizen K9

Our home is peaceful thanks to Andrew. Finn is our 8 month old Doberman/Lab/Pit mix puppy. Prior to the 3 week Board and Train program Finn listened when he felt like it, behaved poorly on walks, and lacked confidence to the point that taking him anywhere or having people over to our house was impossible b/c of his unpredictable response to new people and environments. While Finn was in training we received photos, videos and emails documenting his progress. We were astonished at the swift progress or boy was making. Before the Coming Home Session Andrew sent a detailed email explaining how the session was going to go so we were all on the same page the day he was returned to our family. Finn followed every command given, walked with a beautiful heel and had a newfound confidence that was amazing to see. Citizen K-9 was the best investment we have ever made. I spent so many hours googling dog behaviors and watching various dog training videos but ultimately found myself just spinning my wheels with very little progress with Finn. By the end of the initial meet and greet when Andrew came to our home to evaluate Finn we committed to the 3 week Board and Train program. We knew he could help us and he exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Citizen K-9.

We sent our 1 year old pup to Andrew for a three week board and train after he had become increasingly leash-reactive toward other dogs, trucks and some people. His protective nature was getting to be uncomfortable for my family. Andrew took time to ask me all about our dog and his issues, and assess whether or not his services would be a good fit for us. Luckily for us, it was. Andrew loves, respects and understands dogs - even "troubled" dogs. He takes them to his house for the boarding/training session often with other dog roommates at the same time, spends time with them in his yard, inside his home with his family and in public places like parks and town centers. He forms a bond with his dogs, gets to really understand their personalities. We got photo and video updates, as well as detailed status updates on his training via email. Our pup came back to us, happy, healthy and respectful of boundaries. The take-home session was two super-duper helpful hours where Andrew trained my whole family. When he left us, we had confidence in how to proceed and confidence in the foundation he had built for our dog's training. We have seen such great improvement in our dog's behavior that I would absolutely consider sending him back if, down the road, we wanted to elaborate on his new skills. My expectations were exceeded when my dogs returned to me after their 3 weeks of Off Leash training instructed by Andrew. When they came home I was shocked with how well they listened and responded to commands. Andrew did a great job relaying the information on how to farther carryout their training and gave suggestions unique to each dog. I'm looking forward to the near future when I can go hiking and my dogs and enjoy their time off leash while remaining under complete control by me. Well done Andrew and thank you for the help!

We rescued our senior pit mix Laika in October and all seemed to be going well until we started slowly seeing some reactivity issues while out in public. It began getting worse as the weeks went on and walks were a big source of anxiety for my husband and I. We interviewed a handful of dog trainers and Andrew's down-to-earth nature and board and train program were exactly what we needed. Laika would have structured rules and training in an environment where there were other dogs, new people and real-world tests of her obedience. Laika was gone for three weeks (Andrew even came and picked her up at the start of her program and brought her home after.), during which we got updates via email every few days with the occasional photo or video of her progress. Upon coming home the difference was night and day. Walks got better and having people in our home wasn't a chore where one or the other of us had to micromanage the dog the entire time. Andrew further knocked it out of the park when he came back out to our home about a month and a half after training to help us with some backsliding that our stubborn pitty was doing. With a few minor adjustments to our plan, it feels like I have a different dog. She's not pulling and lunging on walks or out in public. We have taken her to the pet store, home depot and on several hikes where she casually walks on a loose leash and completely ignores anyone but me or my husband. Visitors come to the house and she lays in her bed, occasionally wagging her tail when a worthy human compliments her good behavior. I couldn't recommend Andrew and his program more strongly.
