About City of Tails
City of Tails is a dog training and puppy socialization academy in Loveland, CO, led by Mandy Crist, RVT, FCCP , a registered veterinary technician and certified dog trainer with over 20 years of experience. Programs include Puppy Academy (ages 9 weeks–9 months), Teen Patience & Play for adolescent dogs, and Cooperative Care for vet and grooming prep. All training is positive reinforcement and Fear Free , no punishment, no pressure. Small groups, real progress.

Mandy and crew are the BEST! I've taken my puppy there for daycare as well as teenage day care and she loves the atmosphere. She gets to play in addition to getting one on one attention with training. I can't say enough good things about City of Tails.
Not only did our young pup get some great socialization experience at City of Tail's puppy classes, but also a lot of early basic training that put our pup ahead when we started her in more formal obedience and agility work. Huge shout out to Mandy and her team for setting our little girl up with a solid foundation to grow on!
City of Tails has been such an amazing experience both for myself and my dogs! I've had several puppies go through the program and have come out so much better for it. The focus on training and healthy socialization is incredibly helpful and has improved my dogs' behavior and confidence in so many ways. My dog wouldn’t be the well behaved girl she is today without Mandy and the crew at City of Tails. At about 12 weeks she was lunging at children, other dogs, and even us when I realized I needed help with her severe behavior. After a lot of careful consideration I found City of Tails to enroll her in two times a week and let them know of all the struggles I’ve noticed. I never imagined just how knowledgeable and kind they would be. My once terrified and reactive puppy is now an incredibly well rounded dog. She will always struggle with a genetic anxiety but Mandy’s program and guidance have taught her and I many soothing strategies that most day to day individuals would never know she’s an anxious dog. She’s complemented endlessly on her behavior in public and she’s a joy to have in the house now. We opted into Mandy’s cooperative care lessons while she was in the academy and I’ve seen my dog blossom at the vet and at home. She opts in for her daily medications, exams, and even oral/injectable vaccinations. No amount of thanks can ever be said for how much they’ve helped Suki and I wouldn’t dream of trusting my future pups with anyone else. Thank you for everything 💙
